Chapter 30

Snow's POV

Stay away from Valentino.

I should have listened.

I'm now sitting in the hospital by Valentino's side while he lays there unconscious. He was shot leaving the warehouse tonight. I got a call from Dante saying he was shot and I came straight here.

Gianna and Lorenzo haven't been told yet because it only just happened. I said I would call them soon and Gia is with them so I need to be careful what I say.

I hold Valentino's hand and press a single kiss to his knuckles. He was shot in the abdomen and it was near fatal. For the first time in fourteen years, I was scared.

Scared that he wouldn't wake up. Scared that Gia wouldn't see her father again. Scared that I wouldn't see him again.

I get up and leave the room and take out my phone and call Lorenzo. "Hello", he says. "Lorenzo", I say into the phone. "Snow, how are you? Are you okay?" He asks kindly. "I'm okay, it's Valentino", I say quietly.

"What happened?" He asks quickly. "He was shot in the abdomen". I say and he sighs. "Is he stable?" Lorenzo wonders. "Yes, not conscious though", I say and walk down a corridor.

"Okay, I'll call Luca and Antonio", he says and I sigh. "What about Gianna and Gia?" I ask. "I'll tell them too", he replies. "Okay, see you soon", I say and hang up.

I sigh and walk back to Valentino's private room. He owns the hospital and has a private place for his family, if they should need it.

As I sit down next to him again, I get a text.

You should have stayed away.
Stay away or he dies next time.
You have one hour to break his heart once he wakes.
Your love x

I read it and sigh. I'm going to have to stay away from him if I want him to live. I'll have to break up with him. I don't want to but I need him alive.

I feel something tug my hand and see Valentino start to wake. "Hey", he says, groggily. I hand him some water and he drinks the whole glass. "Slow down", I say to him.

"How are you?" I ask. "I got shot but I feel okay", he smiles. I nod and he tugs at my hand. "Kiss?" He asks. I lean forward and kiss him, it's a slow kiss but meaningful.

It's a goodbye kiss from me but a hello kiss from him. I wish I could tell him what's going on but he would be killed.

I pull away and sit beside him again and then I hear the door. I turn around and see Lorenzo, Gianna, Luca and a sleeping Gia in Antonio's arms.

I stand up and instantly Gianna hugs me. I hug her back and then hug Lorenzo. We pull away and I stand beside Luca and Antonio. They both nod at me and I just nod back.

They all talk to hike and I slip out of the room without anyone noticing. I rub a hand down my face and think about how to tell him we're down.

I hear the door open again and Luca comes out. "You okay?" He asks kindly. "I'm fine", I say coldly. "Okay, talk to me", he says seriously. "I need to break up with Valentino", I say sighing.

"Why?" He asks. "He was shot because of me", I say and he looks shocked yet smiles. "I'm sure that wasn't your fault", he says, trying to comfort me.

"Someone is threatening me", I say quietly. I trust Luca with this. I have to. "Wait why?" He asks in a soft tone. "I don't know", I say and he shrugs.

"You know what, leave it", I say and he looks as if he wants to say something but just nods. I walk into the room and say "can I speak to him for a moment alone".

"Yeah" "okay", I hear from them. I walk in and stand at the side of the bed and say "I'm sorry but we're over".

"Wait what?" He says and try to sit up. "I can't do this anymore", I say coldly. "What did I do?" He asks sadly. "Nothing, it's me, I'm not capable of a relationship, I can't show you love", I say and walk out.

He shouts my name and Gianna and Lorenzo look at me for an explanation. I just walk away and then get a text.

Hour is up

I sigh and leave the hospital and go to my car. I drive back to my place and pack a bag. I pack the bag and leave the penthouse. I leave the building and get in my car and drive to the airport.

I get here and my pilot is waiting for me. I nod at him and get on the plane with my bag. I sit down on the couch and order a bottle of vodka and a glass.

The hostess brings it to me and I thank her. I start to drink until I'm drunk and I see all the texts from Valentino, Gianna and Lorenzo. I ignore them and and continue to drink until I feel numb.

Hours later the plane lands and I stumble out and meet my driver. I thank the pilot and his staff and get in the car.

He drives to my uncles and I get out the car. I see my uncle come out and he rushed to me. He picks me up bridle style and carries me into the house.

He carries me up to my room and lays me on the bed. "You okay, Snow?" He asks. "I'm fine", I slur. He nods and I suddenly fall asleep.

Valentino's POV

She left me.

She's gone.

I'm currently sitting in my hospital room with my family but all I can think about is Snow.

I've texted her so many times but she's not answered one. I text her once more before putting my phone down and looking at my brothers.

"I want her found", I say coldly. "Son maybe we should leave her be, she'll come back", my father says to me. "I don't care I want her found", I say and he just nods.

"We'll get it done", Antonio says and Luca just nods. "Thank you", I say. "Go easy", Luca smiles. I nod and they leave.

"Son, she'll come back", my mother says sadly. I nod and slowly fall asleep.

It's been a week and I'm recovered. There's been no sign of Snow anywhere but I have a feeling about today.

I'm currently I'm my house and gia is at my mother and fathers house. She's been staying with them while I recover and tomorrow I'm picking her up. She understands that I was hurt and knows I'll be okay.

I walk upstairs and go into my room and change into a white T-shirt and grey sweatpants. I walk out of my room when I get a call.

"Don", they greet. I recognise it as Dante and greet him back. "What is it?" I ask, urgently. "She's been spotted in Russia", he says quickly.

"Russia?" I question. "Yes in a restaurant with Nikolai", he says and I sigh. "Okay, get the jet ready", I mutter and he says "okay, see you in an hour".

I hang up and begin to pack a bag. I finish packing and I call my mother. "Hello", I say. "Hello, what's up", she answers. "I need you to look after gia for a few more days", I say and she says "is it snow?".

"Yes", I reply. "Okay good find our girl", she says happily. "Okay tell gia I love her", I say and she replies with "okay love you". "Love you", I say and hang up. 

I leave my house and drive to the airport and see Dante waiting with the pilot. "Good evening, sir", the pilot greets. I nod and get on the jet.

Me and Dante sit and talk while the jet takes off. We talk for a little bit before I go into the bedroom for a sleep.

Russia here we come...
