The slanting rays of the setting sun gave a warm orange tinge to the sky. The sky was covered with hues of pink, purple and red. It never looked so wonderful before. She entered the coffee shop looking at Maurice from a distance. "If only he knew how I feel" a thought went across her mind.
"Hey there Maddy how are you",
"I am as good as you see",
"Come sit in my car",
"But we planned for a coffee right?",
"Plans can be changed when you have a beautiful girl in front of you, now come"

They went for a car ride which was even better than a bitter coffee. They strolled together on the sea shore while the sun dipped below the horizon, and the fleeting colours of dusk began to fade away. The charcoal-black rocks circled small pools of water, shimmering confidently before dark fell upon them.
"This is something I can watch the entire year Maurice",
"You know what I can watch the entire year?",

"Bruh you flirting a lot today and I must say you've got some amazing pickup lines"

Without replying, Maurice moved forward towards Madeline. Due to her short height, her head brushed his chest. They were so close she could hear his heartbeat. Madeline moved her face up, towards his.
"Maddy you are not mine but I secretly create the idea of you loving me and I have been living in that idea for a long time now. I felt for you the day I saw you but I wasn't sure of my feelings. When you told me you were broken before I had the urge to give you all the happiness you have ever dreamed of. The desire kept growing. My feelings kept growing. It took me 5 months to get sure and realise that you are the girl I want to live the rest of my life with. "
"....Is this a prank?"
"Why are you so clueless? Did you never notice the signs I gave you?"
"I mean I noticed but I didn't focus.... to be very honest I do feel something for you but I don't know isn't it too early for a feeling like love to evolve?"
"Even I don't want to rush anything but I surely wanted to confess. Take your time I will be waiting"
After that day, Madeline and Maurice began hanging out every Saturday. They went for a movie date, Netflix and chilled had a candlelight dinner, and went bowling and games at a theme park. Just like that, they grew feelings for each other more and more. Madeline was sure about her feelings on their first meetup, but she was afraid to rush things and end up getting hurt like before. So she decided to observe every little thing about Maurice and finally realised that he was the reason why nothing ever worked out with anyone else.
Yes, he was the one for her.
Madeline asked Maurice to take her to the same beach where he confessed 3 months back.
"You wanted to know how I feel about you right? then the day has come for me to accept without denying my heart that Maurice Grante, you have lightened up the spark in my heart which entices me to love you even more. You make me the happiest girl alive."

Without replying to anything, Maurice held Madeline's hand, it felt as if the stars were dancing across her skin. Maybe time stopped when his lips met hers, but the flutter only intensified. Madeline's heart pounded in her chest as her knees got weaker. She could only focus on how soft she felt against his mouth, how addictively he invaded all her senses. It still wasn't clear if she dreamed of this moment to live, but there was raw emotion in the way his fingers curled around hers.
They kissed passionately till the hues of pink-red disappeared and the blue-black sky dotted with countless small stars appeared. The chaste moon sails like a silvery boat in the deep blue sea
They sat under the sky counting the stars which were their mutual favourite thing to do.
The stars looked brighter that day or were they their newly confessed love shining over them?
"So what are we now?",

"Then I would like us to stay as we are. I fear break-ups. If we date, I will always be afraid of you leaving me"
"Maddy do you see those two stars, one big and one small?"

"the bigger one is me and the smaller one is you. When the bigger star shifts a metre away from the smaller star, that's when I'm going to leave you"
"But stars are immovable!?"

"We have a connection, a soulful connection. Something I never felt with anyone before. Now I see you everywhere, in the stars, in the sea. To me, you're everything that exists, the reality of everything."
"is it love at first sight?", Madeline questioned like a little curious child who wants to know everything.
"I don't believe in love at first sight. But I do believe that the second I saw your eyes I loved them, the moment I saw your smile I loved it and the instant I heard you speak, I loved your voice. I don't believe in love at first sight but I do believe that after a single glace in your direction, I fell for you completely"
"How did you hide your feelings for such a long time?"
"As I told you before, I had to be 200% sure about my feelings and needed guts to confess. When we bonded completely as friends, I knew it was the right time now",

They danced under the night sky till their knees refused to assist. It was the beginning of their unconditional love. The entire universe conspired to make them find each other and fall in love with each other. They never forced love. They were drowning in it from the moment they met.
