It was the day of Madeline's departure to Windsor.
Madeline's parents could see their little girl starting a new, vital chapter of her life.
"We are so proud of you," they said
Madeline along with Zetsy and Maurice reached the airport 2 hours prior to her flight.
Zetsy rechecked all the baggage. Meanwhile, Maurice presented something to Madeline.
"What's this?"
"turn the handle 180° clockwise"
I would never fall in love again until I found her, I said I will never fall unless it's you I fall into...
"A music box with actual song and not just music?? oh my god this is the cutest gift I've ever received"
"Whenever you miss me, just turn this handle around and bam you will feel my presence"
"Oh, that means ghost Maurice is gonna be there with me all the time?"
"For sure!!"
"I also bought something for you Maurice"
"What? a Maddy pillow or smth?",
Madeline takes out a moon-shaped necklace halved in two. Inside the pendant was a picture of Madeline and Maurice's hands held together.
Maurice got the pendant with Madeline's hand's side and vice versa.
"This would be the second most beautiful gift ever"
"Why is it not the first???" Madeline asked furiously
"cuz silly you're the first most beautiful gift I've received from God"
"stop being so cute I'll cry"
Attention please; Boarding for flight Ak 909 has begun. Passengers are requested to reach the boarding counter.
"Time to leave shortie",
Madeline pulled Maurice close to her. She buried her face in his chest and held him so tight as if she was glued to him.
"Cant I stay here for a little longer?"
"I wish you could".
"ahem ahem your bestie exists too miss"
zetsy interrupted.
Madeline hugged zetsy and thanked her for all the favours she did for her.
"Keep sending me snaps every hour of the day, eat your food on time, Sleep for good 12 hours, facetime me whenever you're free...." and the list goes on
"snaps every hour? hmm ill charge extra for them"
"charge as much you want too, my love account is very rich"
"Oh my! bubye b, love you"
"Love you the most"
With that said, Madeline walked inside the boarding hall. She cried when she looked back and saw Maurice and Zetsy waving at her. She decided to be strong and determined as Maurice asked her to be. She won't let him down, never.
15 mins prior to the flight, Madeline settled down in the waiting hall looking dejected.
She took out the music box and began listening to it. Then she opened her pendant which intensified her depression. As she looked at Maurice's hand, tears rolled down.
Meanwhile, Maurice decided to stay at the airport until Madeline's plane departs.
He was lost. Completely lost.
"it is for her good. I should be proud of her instead of weeping here. Maurice spoke in his mind.
They didn't share a word till Madeline reached Windsor to avoid any sad memory. They were too depressed to face each other as their pretending skills didn't work this time.
After 2 hours, she called her parents and Maurice to inform them that she has arrived in Windsor safely.
Madeline was taken to a hostel with only 10 rooms. The hostel looked more like a five-star hotel. 2 people were to live in each room. The rooms weren't ordinary, they were proper suites.
"Madeline Becker and Anna josh, we hand Room#9 to you both. Be good to each other. Feel free to contact us for any complications. Our staff will bring your luggage to your room. Have a good time at Windsor".
"Woah this looks better than my actual room"
"Are you a foreigner?
"Yup, I'm from a different state, what about you?"
"I'm a local"
"oh great to have you as my roommate"
"mutual thoughts".
"So Anna right?"
"Anna josh yes that's my name and you're Madeline Becker I suppose",
"certainly".
"Well, it had been a very long day Madeline ill just go to bed for now ok? peace"
"oh okay, goodnight".
Madeline lounged alone looking out of her window, constantly gazing at the stars and thinking about what Maurice would be doing and that's when Maurice decided to call her.
"How did you know I was thinking about you?"
"I was looking at the stars and wondering if you were doing the same, so I decided to ask you"
"WHAT? NO WAY. I was doing the same thing!!"
"damn soulmate things"
"Well I made a new friend who is also my roommate, gotta live with her for the next 2 years"
"for the first time in my life, I'm getting jealous of a girl"
They both talked until Madeline noticed someone eyeing her.
