Zetsy chased the cry and found Maurice crying with a broken pendant in his hand.
"Maurice... I know it's hard. But if you don't accept the truth now it is only gonna increase your pain in future"
"Why don't you guys believe in me? why don't you feel what I feel?"
"What d'you feel?",
"That she's still alive",
Zetsy stood up and aggressively said
" WHY ARE YOU LIVING IN A WORLD OF FAKE HOPES AND MAKING US SAD ASWELL?"
She took a pause and apologized for her tone. Then she continued.
"Maurice my friend. it's been more than a month. the grief is hard to bear for all of us and you're not alone....you do agree that all words in the dictionary exist for a reason right?"
"I honestly don't know what you're talking about"
"what would possibly be the reason for the word incomplete to exist?"
"I don't know",
"It exists for the incomplete love, incomplete desires, incomplete wishes and incomplete memories.. take care of yourself she wouldn't be happy seeing you in this condition from the heavens"
Maurice remained silent. He didn't speak a single word. As Zetsy left, he murmured to himself
"I can't let you go, Maddy, I can't. I know you are somewhere here and I will find you."
"Yes, you're right.
I'm no longer there to wipe your tears

it's hard for me to watch you like this
I didn't get the chance to tell you
how difficult it is to be without you
but when tomorrow begins without me

"Wake up Maurice!"
".....Mr Becker? " Maurice responded while rubbing his eyes
"I don't know since when are you sleeping here in the garage.
son, please go home it is very late. Your mom has called us twice already."
"Oh, I'm sorry, ill leave."
On his way back home, Maurice kept thinking about Madeline's words in his subconscious mind and looked up at the night sky and said
"Is this the end?" as tears rolled down his cheek?
Every day he woke up hoping for a piece of good news. Every night he slept with a wish. Just like that with each passing day, Maurice tried to accept reality. To accept that he has to live without the one he planned his future with. To accept that he has to live without the love of his life. The more he accepted it the more he blamed himself for whatever happened. This worsened his mental health.
"hey Lucas, how are you doing?"
"Oh hello, aunt Rose I am fine tho just woke up. You tell, what made you call so early in the morning?"
"Well as you know Maurice's condition is getting worse with each passing day. He doesn't socialise or talk to anyone in the house. As you're his cousin and best friend as well, I want you to get him shifted in your apartment so that he feels better",
"I understand your concern as a mother however I don't live alone. I have one more roommate and I don't know if Maurice will agree to live with a stranger"
"That's great! He will make another friend".
"But I just told yo-"
