Madeline checked her table clock and realised it was just 9 am.

A year and a half had passed. Madeline and Maurice were officially dating. They didn't live together but they planned sleepovers at Zetsy's home every weekend. Madeline had strict parents while Zetsy lived alone as her family moved back to England when she turned 18 the same year.
Zetsy had a boyfriend Samuel who used to take her to his place every weekend which indicated an empty house and privacy.
Things were going smoothly. They all graduated from school and were now sending applications to the best universities in the country.

your registration for the Windsor diploma programme has been confirmed. Please check the interview dates in the link below and acknowledge them.

"Oh my God Maurice this means we have been called for the interview!! Congratulations I'm so happy".
Remember when they registered for this programme? it was just before their first interaction. They were both filled with immense joy. Things couldn't be better than this.
It was the day of the interview. Both Madeline and Maurice confidently answered the interviewer. Only 20 out of 100 candidates were selected for the diploma. No wonder why simply the qualifying E-mail made Maurice and Madeline feel overwhelmed.
Sooner than evening the results were announced.
We at The Windsor hereby announce the names of 20 lucky candidates who have reserved their place in the diploma programme.

As the professor announced the names, Madeline's anxiety kept rising.
Madeline Becker and Patricia Dale.
The anxiety wasn't wrong. Maurice wasn't selected.
"Congrats princess you deserve this! you made me proud",
"I'll ask them to remove my name from the list",
"Are you kidding me? You are not gonna do that",
"I will. I can't go live in a different state alone without you. I can't even think of living without you for an hour..",
"Look Maddy, it's okay to feel like that I know you're being subjective right now but trust me career should always be your first priority. It was your dream to do this diploma you can't run away from your dreams now can you?"
"But I wanna fulfill it with you"
"I wasn't even in your mind when you filled the registration form right? Don't worry I'll always be there for you just a call away but don't miss this opportunity Maddy"

Before Madeline could finish her sentence, Maurice signed the confirmation slip on her behalf and said;
"All done princess now you can't run away,"
"This is no good"
"It is just for a year in the other state missy don't stress out too much, just 24 months and bam you'll do the rest of the programme online",
