Jungkook strode through the palace corridors, her steps light yet filled with silent determination. The morning air carried a sense of anticipation as she walked alongside Jiya and Jimin.

On the Way to the Training Ground

Jungkook: "Hey."

Jimin (eyeing her attire): "Where are you headed, Koo?"

Jiya (grinning): "Don’t you see, Jimin? She’s going for some sword practice."

Jimin: "Oh, I see. Just be careful, alright? I have to go meet Yoongi—he called me."

Jungkook (nodding): "Hmm."

Jimin bid them goodbye and left, while Jiya walked alongside Jungkook.

Jiya (smirking): "Mind if I keep you company?"

Jungkook (shrugging): "Mnn."

There was a brief silence before Jiya spoke again.

Jiya: "Jungkook, when will you take back your crown from that bitch?"

Jungkook paused mid-step. Her eyes darkened, filled with unspoken emotions.

Jungkook: "Can I see it?"

Jiya (nodding quickly): "Of course! We never let her wear it, but she kept it in her room."

Without another word, they changed direction and headed towards Mina's chamber.

Inside Mina's Room

The room was empty, Mina nowhere in sight. Jungkook’s eyes immediately landed on the crown, sitting atop a velvet cloth on a polished wooden stand. She approached it slowly, her fingers twitching as if hesitant to touch it.

Jungkook (softly): "How much I missed this, Jiya… The former queen entrusted this to me, but I failed to protect it."

Jiya placed a reassuring hand on Jungkook’s shoulder.

Jiya: "It’s okay. Now, you have a second chance. This time, you can protect it."

Jungkook exhaled deeply, her expression unreadable.

Jungkook (murmuring): "Mmn."

After a moment, she turned away from the crown.

Jiya: "Come, let’s go to training."

With one last glance at the crown, Jungkook walked out of the room, her heart set on reclaiming what was rightfully hers.

At the Training Ground

As soon as Jungkook stepped onto the training grounds, the soldiers straightened, immediately bowing in respect.

Jungkook: "How are you all?"

Soldiers (in unison): "We are fine, Your Highness. How are you?"

A small smile played on Jungkook’s lips.

Jungkook: "I’m fine." She crossed her arms, scanning the warriors before her. "Are you all training well?"

Soldiers: "Yes, we are!"

Jungkook (nodding approvingly): "That’s amazing. So… let’s see how well you’ve been trained. Anyone up for a duel?"

A nervous silence fell over the soldiers. They shifted on their feet, exchanging wary glances. No one wanted to be the one to challenge the former queen—her swordsmanship was legendary.

Before anyone could step forward, a familiar voice cut through the air.

Taehyung: "Why not challenge me instead, Queen?"

The crowd turned, startled, as the king himself approached.

Taehyung was dressed in the same warrior attire as Jungkook—a fitted tunic and black combat trousers, his belt holding the sheath of his sword. The resemblance between them was uncanny, and for a moment, a nostalgic silence fell over the field.

Jungkook turned slowly, her expression unreadable. She stared at him for a moment before a smirk curved her lips.

Jungkook: "Challenge accepted, Your Majesty."

Taehyung (raising a brow): "And what do you want if you win?"

The soldiers watched in anticipation as Jungkook’s eyes gleamed with determination.

Jungkook: "My crown."

Taehyung stilled. His fingers flexed around the hilt of his sword as he studied her, his smirk fading into something softer—almost nostalgic.

Taehyung: "If you win, I’ll return your crown."

Jiya gasped, excitement flickering in her eyes.

Jiya (whispering): "After ten years… I’m going to witness this again. Jimin should have been here to see it."

The training ground buzzed with excitement. The soldiers murmured among themselves, thrilled at the prospect of witnessing a duel between their king and the woman who once stood beside him as queen.

Taehyung and Jungkook stepped forward, drawing their swords in unison. The metal gleamed under the sunlight, the sound of steel cutting through the air as they took their stances.

Taehyung (softly): "Let’s see if you’re still as fierce as before, Jungkook."

Jungkook (smirking): "You’ll find out soon enough."

The crowd fell silent as the duel began.

Their swords clashed with a sharp clang, reverberating through the air. Sparks flew as they moved in sync—swift, graceful, deadly. It was a battle not just of skill, but of unspoken words, of unresolved pasts, and of a love that neither could deny yet both refused to accept.

Jungkook wasn’t just fighting for her crown.

She was fighting for justice.

For the pain.

For the years lost.

And above all, for herself.
