when midoriya awoke, he got out of bed and looked in the mirror. trying to get himself to smile the usual bright smile he had. where had his smile gone? when did it go? why did it have to be him?
it was no use. nothing worked, forcing himself into smiling further made the boy exhausted.
he couldn't form a proper smile and even if he did manage.
it held little to no joy. which broke his heart. everything he had come to learn was all going down the drain.
he was near his breaking point but he reminded himself. he made a promise. a promise he wouldn't ever dare break.
"deku-kun, we gotta get to school now" uraraka's voice came from his door.
midoriya hadn't even gotten dressed yet.
"give me a sec!"
midoriya hurried to get dressed and gather his things. it had taken him less than five minutes and was quickly out the door, rushing to head to school since the others had left. claiming midoriya had taken a little long. "midoriya. i waited for you."
the green haired hoy hadn't even seen the white and red haired boy when he stepped out.
"oh. i'm sorry for taking long." todoroki nodded and started walking, midoriya following close behind. "at least you didn't take long to wake up. the others had to barge into mineta's room."
if it had been any other day. another life.
midoriya would've laughed but he hummed and continued to stare up at the bright blue sky that contrasted his mood.
"why'd you wait?"
"i figured you'd feel bad about being left behind."
midoriya said otherwise. saying it was fine.
but deep down.
he knew he was disappointed to see that the others weren't patiently waiting in the living room for him.
very disappointed.
