Chapter 4

-Shelby pov-
"Mam this is not just a simple process!" I glare at the lawyer across from me "They have custody!"

"That is right!" Hiram smirks "So she is still ours! I think we even will take her with us this time!"

"This time huh?" I hide my smirks as my lawyer goes off "So the other times were not worth it? Is it cause she wants custody? You do know you are admitting to leaving a minor alone while you go to other states?! You have had the chance to be fathers! You blew it on gambling and drugs! Yes I read your files just like I am sure your lawyer tried to read my clients! Came up clean right Greg? Cause she is clean unlike you! So I would advise you sign the paper and take the cuffs! If this goes to court you will be slapped with a lot worse!"

"What proof?" Leroy sits back and I growl at his smug demeanor "What proof do you have?"

"Where to start...how about this!" My lawyer surprises me with two tubs full of photos, notes, diary pages, and so much more "These are doctor appointments, diary pages, notes, photos, videos, links to videos, and so much more! People noticed but did not say anything but people change when they can put sick people away! You are going away!"

"Th-that is not enough" Greg looks pale "Yo-you have no actual proof!"

"Maybe" My lawyer puts five more tubs on the table "This is all I was allowed to bring in here"

"Where is the paper?" We look at a disgruntled Hiram "We are not walking out of this one"

My lawyer smiles and hands them the custody paper. They both sign and then I do. Once that is done police come in. I put my hands up but my lawyer just puts a hand on my shoulder.

"Hiram and Leroy Berry! You are under arrest for...wow" The officer takes a deep breath "Five counts of child abuse, seven counts of drug possession, twenty counts of public indecency, eight counts of sexual misconduct, two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, one count of sexual harassment, and four counts of trespassing! You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can be used against you in court. You have the right to talk to a lawyer for advice before we ask you any questions. You have the right to have a lawyer with you during questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you before any questioning if you wish. If you decide to answer questions now without a lawyer present, you have the right to stop answering at any time!"

"This is not over!" Hiram resists while leroy gets cuffed "Fuck you!"

"Take care of her" I look leroy in the eyes and see regret "We never were good people and...just love her more than we could have if we did"

I give a nod while he is walked out. Hiram struggles some more but soon is arrested. I am sure resisting arrest will be added on. I look at my lawyer and the other one shaking hands.

"I owe you Greg" Greg nods and I look confused "Greg is a friend and when multiple governors and governess want them taken down you do what you must"

"But nothing was done illegally" Greg holds his hand out to me "Go home to your daughter"

"Thank you" I shake his hand then my lawyers "Thank you both so much for this"

They give a nod as I walk out the door. I walk out and to my car. I sit there and then celebrate. I drive away to get something made.

Rachel is going to be so happy!

-Time skip-Quinn pov-
"So this is how she relaxes?" Santana nods from her Upward facing dog position "I feel like this could work"

"I feel like I should be offended you do not check out my tits" I look and Santana smirks "Gotcha ya perv!"

"Whatever" I bend down and smack her ass which causes her to mess up "Gotcha to be my bitch"

"Always" I roll my eyes and we head inside to see Rachel playing with Beth "Shelby still not back yet?"

"I am!" I go to pick up Rachel but she stands "Everyone come here!"

We all share confused looks as we go "So what is all of the hype?" Rachel points to the pink rectangular box "Also what is that?"

"Vegan cake" Shelby claps and sways excitedly "Open it!"

"Alright!" Rachel opens it and her eyes go wide "Really?"

"As of an hour ago I am your mom!" Rachel zooms over and hugs Shelby while we cheer "I will never leave you again!"

"This is so beautiful" There is a knock and Santana steps away "I will get it!"

We start getting stuff out and moving stuff around to celebrate. We stop when we head a gasp. It is Rachel and we all gaps when we see why. Maribel is standing there with boxes.

"Hey" She cringes and closes the only not swollen eye she has "Room for one more? Sorry to ruin the moment"

"Never ruined!" Rachel looks around shyly "Was that right?"

"We really need to get you an autism test done kiddo" Shelby places a hand on Rachel's shoulder and smiles "But yes that was correct"

"Why not join us for cake?" Maribel nods and gingerly makes her way to a chair "Let me get you a drink"

We all get drinks and Rachel raises her glass "To new futures and better days!" She smiles "Cause this is our family now!"
