-Santana pov-
"Guys look at this video!" I get everyone attention to my computer "Just watch and stay silent until after!"

-Recording of Rachel spinning a dreidel-
I had a little dreidel, I made it out of clay
And when it's dry and ready, then dreidel I shall play.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I made it out of clay.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, then dreidel I shall play.

It has a lovely body with legs so short and thin
And when it gets all tired, it drops and then I win
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, with legs so short and thin.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, it drops and then I win!

My dreidel's always playful. It loves to dance and spin.
A happy game of dreidel, come play now let's begin.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, it loves to dance and spin.
Oh dreidel, dreidel, dreidel. Come play now let's begin.

"Oh my god we missed Hanukkah!" I nod and Shelby groans "I totally forgot about it!"

"We all did" I close my laptop and look at the others "What do we do?"

"I have a huge but crazy plan" Fran quickly runs out and back in with her stuff ready to go "We need to leave now though"

-Time skip-Rachel pov-
"Hey I thinking I got my dress in the wrong color" I walk around trying to find..well anyone "Can someone appear and help me?...I am getting scared"

"Come here!" I am being dragged by Quinn toward the kitchen "This is important!"

"Ok!" I am let go of when we reach the kitchen "Wow...is this all for me?"

"We missed Hanukkah so we wanted to do this for you" Mom smiles and slides over Star of David cookies "Vegan of course"

"Plus" I get handed my golden mic "Need to hear a song from the Jewish princess...oh god I sounded like Noah!"

I chuckle and hold the mic up to sing.

(Lyrics from genius)
[RACHEL]
Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
Come light the menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the hora
Gather 'round the table, we'll give you a treat
Sevivonim to play with and latkes to eat

And while we are playing
The candles are burning low
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago

I move to beside my mom and move the mic to pick us both up.

[RACHEL AND SHELBY]
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago

Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
Come light the menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the hora
Gather 'round the table, we'll give you a treat
Sevivonim to play with and latkes to eat

And while we are playing
The candles are burning low
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago

Oh Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah
Come light the menorah
Let's have a party
We'll all dance the hora
Gather 'round the table, we'll give you a treat
Sevivonim to play with and latkes to eat

And while we are playing
The candles are burning low
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago
One for each night, they shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago

"So what is Hanukkah?" I look at Fran who looks confused at the lit candles "Why are there so many candles like this? Why light them at all?"

"Well that is simple" I smile at being able to tell the story of Hanukkah "Hanukkah commemorates a historical event that took place in Jerusalem in the 2nd century BCE, when the Seleucid Greek empire was the ruling power. king Antiochus IV Epiphanes outlawed Jewish practice and defiled the Jewish Temple in the city by installing an altar to Zeus Olympios and sacrificing pigs. A small army of Jews, known as the Maccabees, rebelled against this religious persecution. They regained control over the Temple, removed the symbols of Zeus and built a new altar so they could once again offer sacrifices in keeping with Jewish law. A miracle also occurred at this time. There was only enough oil to keep the Temple's menorah, one of its most important ritual objects, burning for one day. But the flame stayed alight for eight days, until a new supply of oil could be found - the basis for the eight-day celebration of Hanukkah."

"Simple huh?" I glare playfully and Fran laughs "I am glad we could do this"

"So am I" I look at everyone with a huge smile "Maybe next year we do this for all eight days?"

"That works" Mom kisses my forehead and motions to the food "Let's eat!"

I shake my head thinking about the actual traditions of this. Next year will be more traditionalized. Plus we will have this in New York when we go. I wonder if we can get better vegan options there?

I am so looking forward to next year.
