Re-upload of the previously incomplete chapter. I've made this one extra long, for you guys <3Dream and clay are used interchangeably, depending on whose perspective we follow (even though this all is technically 3rd person's perspective)Enjoy the chapter!
The master bedroom of the Ranboo residence lit up, as the sun rays entered through the slivers of opening in the deep purple curtains.
Tubbo groaned at the sudden brightness that filled the room. He turned in the bed and buried his head in the plump side of his husband.
Ranboo turned to his side and saw Tubbo snuggled up next to him. He smiled at his husband and hugged him tightly. After a hectic few days, the comfort was welcome.
It didn't last long.
There was a crash in the kitchen, followed by a loud yelp that sounded like a certain blondie they knew.
Tubbo's reaction was instant. He wriggled out of Ranboo's grip before the latter could even register what happened. He ran to the kitchen to find Dream– what was he doing?
"Oh... hey Tubbo!" Dream waved at him shyly, then turned back to what he was doing.
Tubbo walked closer to see a bowl with some flour. There was a big glass of milk and an egg carton nearby, along with some measuring instruments. A smaller bowl of blueberries and choco chips teetered on the edge of the counter, ready to fall.
"Dream, are you trying to make pancakes?" Tubbo asked, walking closer. Dream winced.
"Yeah, and it's Clay," he mumbled.
Dream – Clay turned back to the pancakes when Tubbo took the whisk away from him. Before Clay could protest, Tubbo started to correctly make the batter, narrating the process.
Slowly but steadily, they made pancakes together. Tubbo was teaching Clay the whole time, who also got an opportunity to flip a pancake. To their delight, it was perfect!
While they made breakfast, the rest of the household was waking up. Ranboo had gone to get Michael ready for the day, not long after Tubbo woke up. Eret, Ranboo, and Michael entered the dining room just as Clay finished setting the table.
"Breakfast is ready!" Declared Tubbo. The whole group sat down at the table, eating slowly and savouring the food.
"We need to call Wilbur here," started Eret. Tubbo choked on his water as Ranboo gave him a concerned glance.
"Why is that necessary?" asked Clay.
"Well, something mysterious happened that day in the prison. You don't remember, and there's no way in hell we are getting Sapnap here. Especially when you're an escapee and I'm supposed to be on their side, as in the side which wants you captured. Which leaves Wilbur as our only witness.
"This incident is our lead to find out what's wrong with you guys' memories. What better place to start than this?"
Eret threw a glance at the couple, knowing they were right. Still, Ranboo looked hesitant.
"If we do that, Tommy will definitely tag along. We can't risk that," he said.
"We just have to make sure he doesn't come here, then."
"How, Tubbo? You both always used to be attached at the hip. He's not gonna miss a single chance to hang out with you!"
"Then he won't."
"Huh?"
Everyone turned towards Tubbo, who was grinning as if he just had the best idea in the world. Maybe he did. They'll see.
