I felt shaky as I dialled the number, would I regret this? I no longer cared and finished dialling the number.

“Hello?” Jack asked.

“Hi, so I was thinking about how we were talking earlier today and you said it was clear I was in love with someone else…” the words tumbled quickly out of my mouth. “I think you were wrong.” There was a long silence on the other end.

“Are you saying what I think you are saying?” Jack asked his voice rising in excitement.

“I mean distance would be hard…” my voice trailed and then he caught me off guard.

“Avery will you be my girlfriend?” Jack asked I felt my face flush.

“Yes.” I felt a huge smile cross my face.

“I’m glad I was wrong,” Jack told me.

“I am to…” I said before hearing yelling in the background.

“I have to go but I am going to call you,” Jack said before hanging up.

“Bye Jack.” A grin crossed my face as I walked back to the apartment I was dreading going back in but I had to. I slowly opened the door and saw Rian sitting there.

“We need to talk.” Rian said coldly as I slid off my shoes.

“What I said was uncalled for and I’m sorry. It’s just we have been friends for so long I worry about you is that so wrong?” I asked defensively slumping down on the coach beside him.

“Avery you don’t need to protect me,” Rian said laughing wrapping his arm around me it made me feel weak.

“Does she make you happy?” I asked shyly brushing my hair out of my face Rian looked at me and smiled.

“She really does I don’t know what I would do without her. What’s going on with you and Jack?” he said switching subjects.

“We are going to try it out and see what happens,” I explained to him. She made him happy that should make me happy shouldn’t it? Well honestly it didn’t, honestly this shouldn’t even bother me I was with Jack now but I loved Rian I always had but maybe I could grow to love Jack the same way.

>Rian POV<

This shouldn’t hurt her being with someone else, I mean I am in love with Alicia but Avery she has always been there and I had always loved her. If he ever hurts her he will be sorry because she is too precious to take for granted.

“I’m happy for you,” I said facing her on the coach.

“Thanks. I umm am happy for you to,” Avery stammered playing with her hair making me wonder if she saw through my lie. I really hope she didn’t.

“Avery?”

“Yeah Rian?” she asked in return. I wanted to tell her how I felt right then and there but I didn’t want to wreck things for her, so I stopped and just smiled at her.

“I’m happy that we both are happy,” that was the stupidest thing to say.

“Me to,” she said smiling but she seemed unsure.
