Author's note: Hello people. It took me ages, but as an apology here's a chapter worth two chapters in reality. Enjoy. And as usual, thank you for your votes and comments.

Pete's POV:
"You can not just yell at him," I say to Vegas as he is furiously looking for something on his desk. I don't think he even knows what it is.
"He is late by 20 minutes," I hear as a response in a low angry voice.
"But he called and expl..."
"Ten minutes late," he interrupts me mid-sentence.
"But he called, explained and apologised. That's important. And you and I both know you are not angry about Macau being late, so don't you dare to take out your anger on him. He is never going to call again if you lash at him now," I try to be as calm as possible. Vegas is still fuming with anger. When he threw out Kinn and the rest of the main family Macau or I didn't even bother to go to him. I just went to take care of Venice and Macau left as quiet as possible.

"Whatever," Vegas mutters under his breath, but he finally sits behind his table and calms down a bit. I make my way to lean on the edge of the table right in front of him. I take one of his cheeks to my palm.
"About what you said..." I feel him freezing for just a millisecond in my hold as I say it.
"I don't want to talk about it."
"But you should," I say softly and Vegas finally looks me in the eyes. He takes a deep breath and then puts a little kiss on my palm. It sends shivers down my arm. I always love when he is this gentle. I love that he CAN be this gentle from his own initiative.

"Later. I am going to deal with Macau first," he responds, but he's not angry anymore. It sounds like he has a burden way too heavy for him to carry. I am happy to help him with it.
"Ok, but no yelling," I remind him. "You can teas him but no yelling." A slight smile forms on his face as both he and I remember what we saw when Macau was leaving.
"Are you going to join me in it?" he asks and moves closer to me, so now he has to look up at me. He puts his hands on my tights and strokes them a little. A reassuring gesture that he is glad I am here.

"Just a little," I say and put my hands around his neck. "I want him to know that he can come to me if he needs anything, and I won't judge him."
"Good. I like that," Vegas says and kisses me tenderly. It's not a heated kiss. It feels like we both do it because we want to reassure ourselves that we can.

The door opens without knocking or any other warning and Macau walks in. He sure as hell learnt how to sneak around. I didn't even hear him coming.
"Still disgusting," he says with a grimace, and I remember how he said it about 3 hours earlier.

3 HOURS EARLIER:

"Disgusting," Macau walks into the kitchen when we are still kissing. Vegas makes an annoyed face and turns to him.
"Then don't walk in here. Or knock before."
"I thought you were arguing, not making out. I live here too, and this is common space you shouldn't have sex here," as Macau finishes the sentence, Vegas raises his eyebrows at his audacity and then smiles cunningly like he is going to eat him alive.

"My dear brother, this..." he throws one of his arms around Macau's shoulder, "...is my house and I can have sex wherever I want to. And you will stop with these stupid comments, or the next time you'll be leaving the house will be at Venice's graduation. Understood?" Vegas gives me a 'would you believe this kid' look, which is kind of amused, kind of annoyed. But I know deep down he is happy he can talk to his brother like this without anyone scolding them.

I smile back at him. It's pretty obvious that Macau has someone in his life now. I don't know if it's just a crush or if he is dating them. But all the smiles at his phone, the way he is happy now...Vegas and I both know what's going on, but Vegas is not going to let his behaviour slide. At least not without some teasing.
