Kain ran to the house, his long sword drawn, held tightly in his left hand. Kain reached the house and in a violent arc, he swung the sword, slicing the door clean in half vertically. Kain kicked the door and the hinges gave way under the rage-fueled monster. A woman in labor, close to giving birth screamed at the sight of Kain.
She had been in labor for a while, sweat lined her forehead as she gasped for breath as the doctor looked at Kain, shock in his face as Kain made eye contact with the woman. For a split second, he saw Lily. It was the kind of notice that he had where detail distort themselves until it shows itself as what you want to see. Kain looked at her, his hand tightening as he felt fear and dread replace his anger as he thought of her, and all he could think was why was he doing this?
Kain stood there, dumbstruck as she screamed more, "Why are you screaming, Lily?" He said.
She screamed louder, "Get away from me!"
Kain's expression changed as he gripped Vulneri tighter, "Lily, you don't mean that."
"GET AWAY FROM ME DAMNIT!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
Kain swung the sword, slicing her in half horizontally. Blood splattered and smacked into Kain's clothing. Kain's ears rang as the man presumed to be the father screamed in grief and grabbed a sword from the wall. Kain dropped the torch, gripped the sword tightly with both hands and lunged forward. The grief-stricken man didn't notice as he watched his wife fall in half, as part of the unborn child fell to the ground.
If it weren't for Vulneri going straight at the man, he would have died that night by his own hands. But, Vulneri was there, and it went straight through the top of his chest and Kain put the sword downwards, slamming the man to the ground, growing right through the wooden floor.
"KILL THEM ALL!" The neverending voice in Kain's head shouted as Kain pushed with his arms, digging Vulneri deeper into the man. Blood ran from his mouth and his hands as he tried to grab the black blade, and found his hands cut instead. Kain applied more force, the hilt a foot from the man's chest as Kain put his foot below the sword in the man's chest, and with a grunt of effort pulled the blade up and out of him.
Kain didn't notice the swelling in his right hand, or how his hand was misaligned as he pulled the sword out. When the sword cut through the woman in labor, his wrist broke as the sword moved faster than his wrist could move, snapping the bones where they had been snapped over twenty years ago.
Kain removed the sword and turned his attention to the doctor. He was shrunk up against the wall and talking about paying Kain to get Kain to spare him. In a split second, Kain swung his sword. The sword severed the doctor's head from his neck and Kain watched blood spurt up some.
Kain then walked around the small house, which was only three rooms, destroying everything he could with his sword. Two tables, five chairs, a bed, and the walls. After a minute or two of destruction, Kain picked the torch up and threw it at the wooden walls to thoroughly torch the house. The mostly wooden furniture ignited and spread to the house.

Ryan stood outside in the cold winter weather with Igneus and Sihu as they looked to the north. They felt entranced, and every second or so they stepped towards the north. They wanted to go north, they all wanted to go north, but something in them didn't. Some primal part of them knew that what they were feeling was wrong. Something was dangerously wrong. When the bright flickers of fire crept behind them, they turned eastwards to see a house up in flames, and with shock and fear driving them, they ran as fast as they could to the house.

Kain ran out of the house to see Ryan looking around. Kain grabbed Ryan and hoisted Ryan over his shoulder. Kain felt his muscles scream at him, the elf was heavier than he looked. Kain kept running and only slowed once the earth became sand and his traction decreased. The sandstone the town was built on only went a few hundred feet in any direction. After a few minutes Kain caught up to Sihu and Ingeus, and he placed Ryan down.
