so around 2 weeks ago, mike texted me saying he has a surprise for me.
no big deal. so i went over to his place and began the session.
"hey jake, how's it going?"
"it's going well. slept a night at my best friend's house. way better than sleeping on a sidewalk for sure..."
"i'd bet on it."
for the next hour or so i talked about everything that's been going on these past 2 weeks.
"alright mike, time's up. i'll see you next week."
"wait jake, remember that i told you there would be a surprise?"
"oh, right. what is it?"
"well. me and my family talked about it for the past 2 weeks. and so we've decided.. you can move into our house!"
"no, no mike.. i can't accept this offer! that's way too much."
"yes, i know it's hard to accept something like this but, you're 16! you still need a home, and a loving family. even if it's just for the last 2 years of your youth."
"alright mike. where should i put my bags?"
and thus, marks the day that i moved in with the andersons. they have 2 children, 15 year old layla, and 19 year old brandon. there's also his wife, lucy.
i'm so happy that i want to cry. finally, i can have something normal..
a family.
