Everybody's Happy But Me

The boys preseason was in full swing, preparing for the Super Cup in a few days. Chilly had been a menace. He was more aggressive on the pitch than he had ever been. The worst part was that he wasn't even sure who he was mad at. He couldn't blame Scarlett; she was hurting just as badly as he was. He could try blaming Mason, but what good would that do him? Whatever way you looked at it, it was a shitty situation.

Christian was the only one who knew what was going on, and he was keeping his mouth shut. He felt like he had caused enough trouble. Mason was just as clueless as ever, trying to get to the bottom of the issue. But Chilly wasn't having it and pretended to be fine once they made it to the changing room.

"Did you and Scar have another fight? I know you haven't been talking. I can clear it up," Mason offered.

"No mate, things are perfectly clear between us. Some friendships just drift apart," Chilly specified before heading to the showers. Mason looked to Christian, who was silently begging to be left out of it.

"I'm gonna talk to her. Ben can say he's fine all he wants, but she's obviously done something to piss him off," Mason stated.

Christian sighed, knowing he had to step in. "If you want to help Chilly, help him, like he said some friendships drift apart. Scarlett's got enough going on right now anyway, just leave her alone," He advised before making his way to the showers as well.

Scarlett had been moping around all morning, after another night out clubbing. It was her usual bullshit of getting too drunk and being a little too wild. Her highs were high, but her lows were lower. She finally settled on the couch as tears streamed down her face. She didn't like who she was becoming and hated everything about the last couple months of her life. She missed how colorful life seemed when she was with Ben, and then she wondered if life was just as colorful now for Kelsey. The song "Cherry" by Harry Styles came to mind. She immediately put it on repeat, sobbing harder each time it played, until her cries were silent and she felt numb.

She then sat up, drying her face. Music had the power to calm her after it broke her heart. The song became almost soothing, like it knew exactly how she felt. She grabbed the guitar that Christian had given her for Christmas from the corner of the room. She wanted to learn how to play the song. It took her four hours, and by 1 pm she had it down, strumming the chords as she sang. She hadn't posted to TikTok in a while, so she figured she would show off her new skill, using the vase on her coffee table as a tripod as she began recording.

"I, I confess I can tell that you are at your best. I'm selfish so I'm hating it. I noticed that there's a piece of you in how I dress, take it as a compliment. Don't you call her baby, we're not talking lately. Don't you call her what you used to call me. I, I just miss, I just miss your accent and your friends. Did you know I still talk to them?"

She uploaded the short video with the caption, "Enough off hot girl summer, I'm feeling more sad girl autumn."

Mason had been sent the clip six times, along with the video of her partying from the night before and decided enough was enough. He had to go talk to her. Christian usually handled matters like this, but it seemed like he was no use. Mason arrived at house to see the state she was in on the couch.

"Scar, I love you, but you've got to stop. I've seen five different guys leave your house in the span of a week and a half, that's not like you. Posting on social media that you want to fuck Logan Paul, isn't like you. Getting battered every night of the weekend isn't like you. What's going on?" He questioned.

"You want to know what's going on? You want to know why I'm falling apart? You and your stupid fucking rule!" She seethed now standing up. How dare he march into her house, point out the obvious, and have the audacity to wonder why.
