December 31, 2020

It had been 10 days since Ben's birthday party, 9 days since they had decided to keep seeing each other in secret, and one hour until Mason's New Year's Eve party.

Scarlett had promised the Sidemen she would attend their party, before she made an appearance at Mason's. She arrived to the house the boys were renting in a short black sequined dress, maneuvering through the crowd looking for one of the boys. Finally making it into the kitchen, she found Freezy and Harry pouring champagne into plastic cups.

"I need to talk to you," She looked at Freezy picking up a cup, "I'm in a predicament."

"I think Talia's over there," Freezy pointed toward the living room.

"No, you asshole. Please, just find somewhere we can talk," She sighed.

"Fine," He sighed rolling his eyes. He escorted her upstairs to a bedroom that had been marked "off limits". Behz saw the two and quickly followed behind them into the room.

"Come in Behz, and shut the door," Scarlett ordered, then filled them in on the last 10 days of her life. They were well aware she was friends with the Chelsea boys often dubbing them her "football friends". Though the idea of her being involved with one of them was a shock, they knew Mason wouldn't approve and most likely have a tantrum over it.

"I'm sorry, did you just say you slept with Ben Chilwell? I knew his insta comments were mad sus," Freezy chuckled loudly.

"Lad, she's shagged a professional footballer," Behz couldn't control his fit of laughter. He looked back at Scarlett, "What is your life," He spoke through high-pitched giggles.

"Mate, you've had a howler," Freezy belted.

She joined in the laughter, it was a bizzare situation to be in, and raised her glass in agreement before downing it's contents. The trio returned to the party shortly after that and Scarlett refilled her cup. Exiting the kitchen, she began to look for more of her friends, wanting to make the most of this party before heading to Mason's. She dreaded going to the other party knowing it would be much smaller and Ben would be there.

The uber ride didn't take as long as she thought it would pulling up outside her friend's house at 11:07 pm. She thanked the driver and made her way to the front door, letting herself in the house. She was greeted by Kai and Sophie who weren't far from the door. She said her hellos and made her way into the kitchen looking for more alcohol, clearly a little tipsy.

"About time you got here," She heard Christian's voice beside her as she poured champagne into a glass.

"You know me, always fashionably late," She smiled.

"How much did you drink at that other party?" He chuckled.

"Half a bottle. Cheers," She replied clinking their glasses and walking out of the kitchen.

She caught glances of Ben sitting on the couch with Mason as she stood with Leah and Mia by the windows. She didn't want to avoid him, but didn't want to give them away either. The girls were talking about what holidays they were planning, until the conversation landed on Scarlett's love life.

"I just don't believe you're not seeing anyone. You're actually the perfect person. You're gorgeous, athletic, great personality, and make your own bag," Mia listed as Scarlett rolled her eyes.

Leah gasped catching their attention, then whispered, "What about Ben? He's single, you're single, he's always giving you "fuck me eyes", and the insta comments."
