That morning, there was this buzz in the air, and with each passing hour, Scarlett's excitement grew. She started getting ready for the game, putting on ripped jeans and Mason's England top, tucking it in, and she finally decided on her light blue dunks. They made her think of Ben. He was the reason she bought them all those months ago. She had already finished her makeup and straightened her hair, thankfully, because Jaz and Sam arrived early to pick her up. When Scarlett got in the car, Summer started fighting to get out of her car seat.

"Lulu!" The girl babbled, reaching out for her. Scarlett grabbed her hand, assuring her she was staying. As they drove off, Jaz shared that she wanted to confront her brother over the rule, causing Scarlett to protest. Tonight wasn't the time or place for an intervention, and she needed to be the one to talk to him.

Once they arrived at Wembley, you could feel the electricity pulsing through the stadium. Scarlett could see Ben's parents and sister sitting not far from them. She wanted to go say hi, having met his dad before, but she wasn't that bold. She stayed where she was holding Summer, waiting for the boys to take the pitch. "It's coming home" rang through the air, even more so when the boys walked out.

Scarlett's excitement was now mixed with anxiety; this felt like Porto all over again. Two minutes into the game, Luke Shaw scored, giving them the lead. She was at ease until she realized Italy just needed to equalize. Halftime came and went, her nerves intensifying with each passing minute. Her fear came true when the equalizer came in the 67th minute. It felt like her heart had dropped down to her stomach.

The match went into extra-time but no goals came from the 30 minutes, sending them to penalties. Scarlett felt like she could throw up right then and there. She didn't know whether to close her eyes or not. It was agonizing, especially when it came down to the final penalty. When Saka stepped up to take the pen, the England fans were quiet. They watched him run up, kick the ball... and miss as the keeper blocked it. England lost the Euro 2020 final. Scarlett watched the boys, consoling the distraught 19-year-old. Tears started pooling in her eyes as she saw Declan cry. This wasn't how the best summer ever was supposed to end. Her heart was broken for the team and country she loved so deeply.

It wasn't long after that, the families moved into the hospitality suite. There were tables with the boys' numbers on them to show you where to sit, so they quickly found table 19, and began waiting. Ben's family wasn't far from them Alex spotted the YouTuber instantly. She leaned over to her mother, pointing her out.

"You see the girl sitting at Mason's table, she's holding the baby?" Alex asked.

"She's gorgeous. What about her?" her mother replied.

"I think Ben fancies her. He's always going to her house when I call," the blonde girl confirmed.

"Do you think they're together? Why hasn't he brought her round?" her mum questioned.

"No. I don't think so, but Ben defiantly fancies her, just watch when he gets here. I'm going to introduce myself," Alex explained getting up. She walked over to the table getting Scarletts attention.

"Hi, I'm Alex, Ben's sister," She said shaking the older girls hand.

"Scarlett, it's nice to finally meet you. This is Summer, Mason's niece," She chuckled as the baby waved saying hi.

The two older girl stood there talking casually until the boys walked in. Ben came into the room to see his parents, then his sister walking away from Scarlett, If he knew Alex she was up to no good.

Mason had come over making his way around the table hugging his family. When he finally got to Scarlett, Summer practically flung herself into Mason's arms. Jaz took their picture, and then one of Scarlett and Mason with Summer. She uploaded it to her Instagram story captioning it "Summer's two favorite people💕"

Declan and his family had migrated over, the two family's being friends for years. Scarlett greeted his girlfriend, Lauren, not seeing her for months. She took a picture with Declan and Mason, then was approached by Jack Grealish, he explained that his sisters wanted to meet her.

They travelled over to his table where she met Holly and Kiera. She took picture with both of the girls, then met Jack's girlfriend Sasha. They talked for a couple of minutes, and she was nice enough to get a picture of Scarlett and Jack. Meanwhile, at the Chilwell table, Alex caught her brother staring at the girl while she was with Jack's family.

"Why haven't you talked to her. It's obvious that you want too," she chimed.

"It's much more complicated than that, and mind your own business," he sassed.

"Is it because her best friend is your best friend? That would have to be weird for Mason," Alex pushed.

"Alex," he warned and she could tell she hit a nerve.

The whole affair left him in shambles. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do, but he couldn't shut her out of his life, so he excused himself from the table. He caught up with her just as she was leaving Jack's family.

"Excuse me, Scarlett Rose," Chilly teased pretending to act like one of her fans. Her face lit up at the sight of him, making his stomach flip.

"Ben," she beamed throwing her arms around his neck. She leaned back looking at him, "I got my permanent residency," she shared. He was happy to hear the news, having gone with her to Amber's office a coupe of times. It was a relief to know she was staying in London for the foreseeable future.

"Thats amazing," he congratulated her picking her up and spinning her around. Declan saw the two making a joke about Schilly to Mason and Jaz.

"I think they would be adorable, but somebody disagrees," Jaz nodded towards Mason. He couldn't be bothered by what they were saying as he watched Ben escort her back to his table. She was introduced to his family, then took as seat at the table next to him.

"Earth to Mase," Declan said waving his hand in front of his friends face. Mason was brought back into the conversation, as Declan and Jaz were still talking about Ben and Scarlett.

"You don't want to spend family Christmases with Schilly?" Declan playfully questioned. This caused Mason to roll his eyes, while they continued laughing.

"I- it's Chilly. He would probably have good intentions, but I just see Scar getting hurt. I definitely don't want that," he admitted feeling cornered.

"What if someone else hurts her, is that okay?" Jaz asked not understanding her brothers train of thought.

"No, of course not. Look, I think Scarlett can handle herself, but she's also prone to self-sabotage. Ben is Ben, there will be an article about him and  some new girl in The Sun next week. I don't need Scarlett getting mixed up in that and going off the deep end," he explained taking Summer and walking over to Ben and Scarlett.

Mason handed his niece over to her, lying that she'd been asking for her. Summer was tired, laying her head on Scarlett's shoulder immediately. Ben couldn't help but notice how good she was with the little girl. His heart almost melted at the sight. A few minutes later, Mason suggested they return to his family. She agreed, telling the Chilwells goodbye and rejoining the Mounts and Rices. It wasn't long after they returned back to their table that some families began leaving and Ben came over to tell Scarlett bye one last time before she left.

{writing for Declan is so fun, the big goof😂 Also, I have scoured the entire internet and can't find Ben's mother's name. So, unless someone knows it, she will be called Cathy from now on}
