08 | welcome to wonderland

The girls spoke together for a while longer. Fleur denied the offer of staying with them. She said she was happy alone. The girls were reluctant about that but they finally agreed. Fleur then made them all a cup of warm tea and gave them some biscuits. The girls discussed their favourite books, Vena always having to explain hers because they had no idea what she was talking about. Her favourite book being 'Little Women'. The girls laughed and exchanged jokes to pass time. A topic was brought up that made Elora annoyed. She got up to get some air, only to walk into a strong chest. She instantly looked up, mentally cursing herself for leaving her bow and arrow at Fleur's house.

"Sorry," She apologised.

"We need to stop meeting like this," Caspian chuckled.

"I guess," Elora responded quietly, rubbing her arms.

"Is Vena not with you?" Caspian frowned, knowing the girls were inseparable.

"No," Elora responded. Caspian was genuinely shocked at the girl. She was always making jokes and being sarcastic, now she was just replying with one word answers.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes."

"Is your wound okay?" Caspian asked.

"Yes," Elora replied. The two stood in an awkward silence. Elora decided to break it first, annoyed at the awkwardness of the moment, "I better get going, Vena is probably wondering where I am..."

"Hopefully not lost," Caspian joked. Elora attempted to stifle her laughter, but it was no use. She waved at Caspian and he waved back turning to leave. Elora wrapped her arms around herself, her eyes widening and a blush rising to her freckled cheeks. She speed walked back to the small cottage. She didn't know what she was feeling, but she sure didn't like it. When Elora arrived back at the small cottage, both Vena and Fleur both questioned her blushing state.

"I just had the most awkward conversation," Elora blurted out, covering her red face with her hands.

"With who?" Fleur asked, tilting her head.

"I think I know," Vena smirked.

"Oooh who?" Fleur questioned teasingly.

"Caspian isn't it?" Vena arched an eyebrow, her smirk as bright as ever.

"N-No," Elora lied.

"Mhm," Vena smiled sarcastically, "And I'm the Queen of the world."

"You've been here for a few weeks and you know me better than myself!" Elora huffed.

"So you admit to having a growing crush on the Telmarine Prince?" Vena smirked with an arched eyebrow.

"I don't know!" Elora exclaimed. Fleur watched the interaction in amusement.

"You two girls bicker like siblings," Fleur laughed.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" Elora asked.

"I was an only child," Fleur shrugged.

"I have an older sister," Vena stated, "We barely talk. I've been told being a only child is the best."

"But it's boring," Elora replied, "Take it from two girls that are the only child."

Fleur nodded. Vena shrugged then gasped in realisation.

"You were distracting me!" Vena hissed.

"And we were successful for five minutes," Elora replied, both her and Fleur exchanging a high-five.

Hours and hours later, the girls said their goodbyes to Fleur. Vena's mind was spinning. She remembered the first thing that came to her mind when she first arrived at Narnia was welcome to wonderland. It felt like she had fallen into wonderland, just like Alice. Vena still continued teasing Elora about the situation with Caspian. It was hilarious to her. Elora's face would turn the exact colour of her hair. In Vena's words, 'you look like a tomato'. Elora had rolled her eyes at the comment and responded with 'a cute tomato'. The teasing continued until Elora finally asked why she was feeling like that. Vena face palmed and answered her question. Vena then proceeded to explain what love is and its multiple stages. It was safe to say, Elora was a blushing and stuttering mess. Vena was a laughing mess.

"You aren't helping!" Elora whined. Vena laughed, causing Elora to huff, "I hate you."

"Love you too," Vena replied, trying to contain her laughter. Elora covered her face with her hands in embarrassment.

"He might like you too! He was so worried when you were bleeding!" Vena exclaimed.

"I doubt," Elora said bitterly.

"What exactly happened?" Vena asked. Elora told her the whole conversation.

"I TOLD YOU!" Vena squealed.

"No!" Elora insisted.

"Yes!" Vena replied, smiling triumphantly, "He cares for you Elora, he asked you about your wound for heaven's sake!"

"Fine! Fine! He might like me, he might not! I don't want to get my hopes up," Elora responded.

"Good idea," Vena nodded.
