Chapter 6

It was morning and I didn't feel like getting out of bed I had sent Amber a text message last night before struggling to sleep. I rolled over and grabbed my phone off the bedside table to see if I had any messages or missed calls, nothing she hasn't even looked at my massage. I don't know what to feel I'm just broken I don't understand anything at all.  

Oli walked in to my bedroom and sat at the end of my bed "hey bro you ok? mum told me what happened" he said

I looked at him blankly "I don't know" I mumbled, he grabbed my wrists and pulled me up in to a hug and rubbed my back. 

"It will be ok Shayne you just got to pick yourself back up and I will be here if you ever need me always will be" he said trying to sooth me and make me feel better. This is why I loved my brother we may bicker and be in competition all the time but we are there for each other when it matters. 

I sat there thinking and Oli was right I need to move on somehow I got up just throwing on a pair of black joggers and a tank top and walked downstairs to get some lunch, I had stayed in bed all morning wallowing in self pity as I got to the bottom of the stairs I heard a faint banging coming from outside, I went to the front window and looked outside to see an estate agent putting a for sale sign up at Ambers house.  This just made it real she was really gone and didn't have the heart to tell me she was leaving, she didn't even break up with me.

Oli came up behind me and slapped me on the back breaking me out of my thoughts "so they really have gone then? and she didn't say anything at all to you?" he said watching the estate agent leave the property next door.  

I let out a huff "nope nothing not even a text" I said turning to head to the kitchen.

"It will be alright man forget about her" he said as he followed me in to the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water and threw one towards Oli. 

"yeah I know bro its just I have loved her since she first moved in" I said remembering when I first laid eyes on her. 

I wasn't myself anymore she had gone and she had taken half of me with her leaving me empty, their house only took a week to get sold and a man and his daughter now lived there she was a lot like me looked and dressed like a boy, I haven't spoken to them much but I do know her name which is Drew she's my age and will be starting at my school when we go back. 

I still haven't really done anything or spoken to anyone and my birthday was coming up, I was turning 17 I was looking forward to my birthday but not anymore I couldn't care less. It was 6pm and I decided I was going to go for a run I got my running gear on and put my headphones in walking out of the house I put my playlist on and started walking to the end of the drive I noticed drew in her front yard so I nodded at her before I ran off down the road. That's one thing that didn't change I carried on working out and my muscle were more toned and defined now. 

Once I had finished my 10k run I went straight back up to my room ignoring everyone and went to take a shower, washing all the sweat away and feeling a bit better. I put on some shorts and a tank top and put a movie on as I laid down on my bed. 

I heard a knock at my bedroom door just as I started the movie, I huffed just typical no chance of any piece in this house. "Come in" I shouted the door opened slowly and in steps Drew.

"Hey your mum said I could come up, I hope you don't mind" Drew said as she entered my bedroom.

"Hey man nah it's alright you ok?" I said as I motioned for Drew to come sit on my bed.

She walked towards my bad and sat down restring get arms on her knees, "yeah I'm good just thought I'd pop round see if you wanted to hang out? And I have seen you going for runs. Do you want a running buddy?" She asked.

"Yeah sure I mean we are neighbours and you will be attending my school. That sounds awesome you can come with me tomorrow. I'm about to watch a movie do you want to stay?" I said feeling happy to have a new friend that's just like me we could be twins.

Drew looked at me with an excited expression on her face "awesome and yeah sure what movie we watchin?" She said as she jumped up next to me on the bed to get comfy.

I laughed at this she was so excited "we are watching IT you don't mind scary films right?" I said grinning at her.

She looked at me with a smirk "haha nah man love them" she said. We both turned our attention to the TV and started to watch the film, maybe it is a good ideas for me to start hanging out with Drew it might help me move on.

By the time the movie had finished Drew had past out on my bed and it was 2am, I decided I will just let her stay the night. I rolled over and turned the lamp of on my bedside table and went to sleep.
