Tobias and Tia were enjoying the small talk they were having, though Tia couldn't shake the fact that she was hungry no matter how hard she tried. She didn't eat breakfast that morning and was feeling famished.
"Well this has been nice but I should get going to the canteen." Tia said, getting up, ready to part ways with Tobias.
"Why can't I come?" He asked, getting up as if he was implying he wanted to accompany her to the canteen.
While walking, the duo continued their conversation. The walk to the canteen was around five minutes from where they were, so they had some time to make conversation.
They talked about a range of things; their favourite classes, what primary schools they went to, what they wanted to do after high-school. All of the topics were covered quickly but it was still an efficient way to learn about one another.
"What do you usually buy at the canteen?" Tobias quizzed to Tia.
"Food."
"No shit, what food?"
"I don't know, usually I get a sausage roll"
"Surely you can buy me one too" Tobias chuckled.
"You treating me with human decency once doesn't equivalent into you deserving for me to buy you a sausage roll..." Tia said, cringing slightly at his comment, even if it was just for shits and giggles.
When the duo got to the canteen they lined up together, Tia shoved Tobias out of her way, battling to be before him in line. Tobias wasn't the type to hit back often, so he just groaned and let it happen.

While the duo was in the line, Hannah and James approached them.
"Hey Tia! Hi Tobias!" Hannah greeted them, enthusiastically.
Tia was still pissed about the party and chose to ignore Hannah, Tobias responded
"Hey Hannah."
"I didn't realise you guys were close?" James insinuated.
"We're not." Tobias added.
Tia was slightly taken aback by how quick Tobias was to retaliate to James' comment, but then again, it was true. Tia and Tobias weren't close, they had spoken once, that was  not equal to a close friendship.
"Yeah, why would I ever be friends with this dick head?" Tia retaliated, slightly hurt but playing it off humorously.
Tobias rolled his eyes before turning his attention to James and striking up a conversation with him, leaving Tia and Hannah to each other.

"How are youu?" Hannah asked Tia, flashing me a grin
"Fine." Tia said, trying to cut the conversation short.

Hannah tugged Tia's arm, forcing her slightly closer to Hannah, "Are you okay? You seem off..." She asked Tia discretely.
"Yeah I'm fine, I just love it when my best friend ditches me at a party for her boy toy while I'm getting harassed by Jordie and her cult of fiends!"
Hannah's face dropped, she looked worried...
"What're you talking about?"
"Of course you didn't see? You were too busy to talking to James!"
"James is not my boy toy and you know that!" Hannah riposted.
Tia knew she was acting malicious towards Hannah, and in a way she felt like that gave her some clarity after what Hannah had done to her.
"Can we speak about this in a more private area?" Hannah asked Tia
"Whatever. After school today? My place?" Tia suggested
Hannah nodded her head and flashed Tia a light smile. She seemed guilty, and Tia was glad it had gotten through to her that what she did was wrong!

The school bell went, indicating the end of the day. Tia and Hannah met in front of the school and began the walk to Tia's house. They made some talk on the way home about their school day but for majority of the way; it was awkward silence. Tia was still feeling a bit adamant to Hannah's sympathy. Meanwhile, Hannah was confused and worried about what had happened to her friend.

Once they arrived at Tia's house, the girls went through to her bedroom. Tia sat down on her bed and Hannah sat on the floor, her legs crossed and looking up at Tia who was looking down at her from the bed.

"What did you mean before at school?" Hannah asked me

"You would know if you didn't ditch me!" Tia rebutted.

Hannah was still confused, "What happened when I was gone?"

"Jordie spat in my fucking face!"

Hannah's calm composure shot up after hearing that, taking her from the ground to up on the bed next to Tia.

"That's not okay!" Hannah stated.

Tia already knew it wasn't okay, but the fact someone reciprocated that belief reinforced her understanding of what had happened.

"I am so sorry, Tia" Hannah's apology was enough for Tia to forgive her and the two girls discussed some other events of the party, as they usually would talk.

After a little bit more small talk, there was a knock at Tia's door. The girls both looked at each other, confusion evident on their faces.

Tia got up to unlock the door, Hannah following a bit behind.

When Tia unlocked the door, her expression dropped, and a surprised expression came over her face.

"What the fuck are you doing at my house?" Tia said, demanding an answer to Jordie.
