It was the day before the school camp and the girls were sitting in their usual seats in Uniready. As Tobias walked in, he looked over to the girls and gave them a quick wave. They reciprocated, with Tia waving back and Hannah flashing him a smile.
James walked into class, glancing Hannah's way and shooting a smile her way. She ignored it. Disregarding the drama that had gone down between the group, Tobias was still making effort to continue engaging with Tia and Hannah. Not as often as before, but still speaking with them every now and then.
During the car ride back home after Tobias had picked the girls up, he was very understanding of the situation and promised the duo that he would not press too hard when it came to any aspect of it. Since that ride, he had ensured to avoid the topic at all cost, making an effort to not upset the girls.
The girls' attention snapped back to each other and they continued their conversation.
With camp being so soon, the girls had lots to talk about and plan, especially what outfits they were going to wear. They spent ages rambling on about it, until the siren chimed, implying for them to go to their next classes.
Later that day, during recess, Tia and Hannah were sitting at a bench and chatting away about plans for the camp. Tobias came up to them, he was originally hanging out with James- who was now waiting for Tobias a few feet back.
"Hey Tobias!" Hannah declared.
"Hey Hannah, hello Tia" he said, taking a seat next to Hannah.
"What brings you here?" Hannah queried to Tobias.
"I had an idea for camp tomorrow."
Tia and Hannah's attention was caught.
"What is the idea?" Tia asked.
"Okay so, tomorrow night, we sneak out of our tents and just go for a good old walk down the road."
The girls looked at each other for a moment, as if they were making a pros and cons list in their head.
"What about James?" Tia asked Tobias.
Tobias looked over to James, who had sat down at a bench, awaiting Tobias' return so they could continue their hang out. Tobias turned his attention back to Tia and Hannah.
"I was planning on waiting for him to fall asleep." Tobias replied.
Tia did not say anything, but she felt grateful for the fact that Tobias was being so considerate of the drama with James.
"Thanks Tobias" Tia said, expressing her appreciation discreetly.
"Ugh, don't go acting like I'm considerate!" Tobias expressed, rolling his eyes and crossing his arms.
Hannah let out a slight chuckle, at Tobias' defences to being implied to have human decency.
After a bit of small talk for a couple more minutes, Tobias parted ways with the girls, feeling bad for having left James alone for so long.
The girls continued their chat about potential 'this and that's' for their camp until the bell rang and they made their way to their next classes, individually.
Later that day, Hannah and Tia facetimed while making any final arrangements for the camp. They chose their outfits during the call. For the first day, Tia decided to wear ripped denim jeans with a slightly oversized grey shirt that in the middle had the word "Crescent" on it.
She was wearing her hair down, and was wearing a pair of converse.
Hannah decided to wear a pair of black tights and a red shirt, her hair in a low pony tail.
After the call, Tia made sure to get a good nights sleep and slept a couple hours earlier than usual to ensure she would not be too tired for the next day she would be enduring. She wanted to be fully attentive at camp.
The morning of the camp arrived, and Hannah met Tia out the front of Kamila College. The girls both had their backpacks and suitcases and were ready to embark on their journey.
Tia and Hannah made their way onto the bus, sitting towards the back. Hannah insisted Tia take the window seat. Tia had always felt a connection to windows on buses, and looking out the window.
Tia noticed James make his way onto the bus, he was walking with Jamie. But not Tobias?
Tia tapped Hannah's shoulder to get her attention, "Where's Tobias?"
"What?" Hannah responded, looking up from the book she had just started to read.
"He's not with James.."
James and Jamie sat down towards the middle of the bus.
Not long after, Tobias walked onto the bus. He was with Dekree. Dekree Concrete. Him and Tia were kind of friends, but she would not particularly rely on him for anything. He was the comedic type, never academic but never a low life.
They sat one row in front of Tia and Hannah.
The boys stuck their heads over the seats, looking back to Hannah and Tia.
"You guys ready for this?" Tobias asked enthusiastically.
"So ready!" The girls cheered in unison!
