Jennifer POV
I tuck my books into my locker, and close the little door. Just as the little door hits the wall, a known scent fills my nostrils. Not a scent I appreciate too much, it was not Josh's well known cologne, but the smell of Nicholas.
It's not that I hate him, I'm just particularly found of him talking to me after we broke up, like he's a nice guy and all but it's just weird.
"Hi!" he says, as casually as it gets.
"Uhm, hi Nick, what are doing on this side of the school?" I ask him because it kinda shocks me. What could he possibly want?
"I was talking to Lucas over there and just thought I'd say hi," he shrugs "But I can go, if you'd like."
"No, that's not what I meant, it's just weird having a normal conversation with you again, that's all." I try to smile, but truth is, if this gets more awkward, I'm gonna have to leave.
He chuckles, and takes a step back. Thank God, his cologne was a little over the top, to be honest.
"Well, I guess I'll see you around." He smiles at me, a wide grin, showing off his teeth, before turning around, and taking off down the hall. Weird.
I shrug it off, and turn back around to finish what I was doing. When I realize the fact that I was actually done, I turn around again, and head off to the opposite way of where Nicholas went. To the parking lot. I had agreed on going to the mall with Jena today, something I actually looked forward to.
I get to the parking lot, and look for her car. I look everywhere, but it's... not there? What the hell?! Is this her way of telling me that she ditched me? I take my phone out of my purse and dial her number.
*riiiing*

"Girl, hold on, I'm there in two sec, I just had to get something from home first." Is the first thing I hear when she answers the phone.
"Okay, but hurry up, this is uncomfortable as hell."
I wait for another three minutes, and then I hear the umistakable sound of Jenas car.

"So he just came up to you like that? With no particular reason?"
I nod as I sip on my coffee. We're sitting on a cafe at the mall, surrounded by shopping bags. I have just shopped my ass off, and I'm sure I've lost at least 5 pounds by running around with Jena. I love her, but when she's in shopping mode, she's unstoppable. I had just told her about my weird encounter with Nick. The more I think about it, the more it freaks me out. What could he possibly want with me? We hadn't spoken a word in almost a year, and now he suddenly takes full interest in a possible friendship.
Dream on my dear Nicholas.
Jena laughs, and shakes her head a little. "What is he thinking with tho? Like, he thinks he can just walk into you life again? Ugh, don't talk to him. Something is up." She finishes her words of wisdom with a smug look my way, and a sip of her coffee.
"I don't know, I mean. He's nice and all, and in sure he's a good friend. But he's my ex, it's weird."
She nods her head in approval, and puts her cup down on the wooden table. The cafe was pretty nice, with sleek, black and white furniture.
"You wanna go? I still need to find a dress." She says, as she starts to take all of her bags in her hands.
"Are you and William going on another date?" I say as I help her with all the bags, a few of them being my own. She nods, and even though she is trying to hide it, the blush in her face is clearly visible. I chuckle, grab the rest of the bags, and head out of the cafe. I hear Jena walk behind me, and I take a wild guess that the blush haven't left her face.
"Let's go to that one, maybe they have some dresses!" I hear Jena say from behind me after about 14 seconds of silence. I nod, not looking forward to this as much as she is, and turn left, heading into the store. Just as I enter the store, I get a text message from my mom, saying that she will be picking me and Jena up in about thirty minutes. I reply with a simple yes, before locking my phone, shoving it into my pocket, and start looking for Jena. It doesen't take long before I find her, and when I do, she is already paying for a dress. It was about mid-thigh, strapless, and I could see from here that it would probably hug her waist, and spill over her breasts. Total guymagnet. Good luck keeping her for yourself William.
I walk up to her, a smile reaching from ear to ear on her face.
"Mom is picking us up in like 25 minutes or something, you wanna just sit down for a bit?" I ask her, as she gives the money to the guy behind the cash register.
"Sure, I'm done for today, so that's just perfect." She says as we walk out of the store. We sit down a few feet away from the entrance, so we can easily spot my moms car. But she isn't the first car I see. I see Nicholas' car. And he's just getting out of it. And he caught my eye, so now he knows I'm here.
Are you fucking serious?
Literally writing this in my grandmother's bathroom lmao
