Jennifer's POV

I knew giving my number to Josh was a bad idea. A horrible one, actually.

I opened the message, and it read:

"What I wanted to say was: You looked amazing today ;) -Josh"

I felt a warmth grow in my cheecks as I read the message. He actually seemed less douchy in this message. It was cute, actually.

I responded with a quick thank you and a smiley, and mentally slapped myself for blushing for him. I could, and would not fall for him. He had an awful rumor written all over him, "The Big HeartBreaker".

Just as I layed down my phone on my bed, he responded.

"No problem, just wanted you to know :)"

I almost blushed, but slapped myself again. physically this time.

Besides, I could not have a boyfriend now anyway. I was going to LA with my parents in a couple of weeks, and was going to stay there for three weeks. A boyfriend to miss would just ruin that.

I rushed downstairs as I smelled the scent of chicken. As I got closer and closer to the kitchen, the smell grew stronger and stronger. As I thought, my mom had made hereself and me a plate of chicken and rice. It smelled delicious.

"Where's dad?" I asked as I took a bite of the chicken. It was honestly the best chicken I had ever tasted.

"He's running late, had to go to the store to buy a few things. He should be back any minute" My mom answered as she shoved some rice in her mouth.

We finished in silence, and when I was done putting the dishes in the sink, I ran upstairs to find another message from Josh. I also had one from from Jena. I opened the one from Josh first

"So, I was wondering if you wanna hang out? Tomorrow maybe? :)"

I thought about the options I had.

1. I can ignore the text and hope he'll never talk to me again. But then, he would ask me at school instead.

2. I can answer him, but say that I can't because I have plans with someone else. But then again, he would just say another day.

3. I could just hang put with him one time, and ditch him afterwords.

Out of those three, the last opinion seemed like the safest. I texted him back saying that we can hang out after school tomorrow.

I then checked the text from Jena.

"Has he texted u yet? c:<"

I called her instead of texting, because I had to hear her reaction.

She picked it up after three rings.

"What did you do now?" She said as she laughed. This girl knew me too well.

"Okay, so he texted me, asking if I wanted to hang out. And because I know faking busy wouldn't work, and ignoring him would definately not work, I said to him that we could hang after school tomorrow, and then I'll ditch him after that." I told her my brilliant plan, and she started to laugh hysterically.

"Good luck girl" She chuckled, and said goodbye.

I said goodbye too, and got started on finishing reading The Hunger Games; Mockingjay.
