Jennifer's POV

Of course he couldn't resist. Why did this have to happen?! What should I say? That I don't wan't to? Because that's the truth. Well, at least half of it.

The other half of the truth is, I really wan't to hang out with him again. It was lovely. It was fantastic. When I was with him yesterday, I felt whole. Like nothing in this world could hurt me. And when I touched him on the beach, I didn't feel sparks, like everyone says. I had a warm, lingering feeling in the bottom of my chest. I needed more. More of him.

I sat in almost 20 minutes, staring at the message. I was in awe, I didn't know what to do. Like I was paralyzed.

I finally replied after almost 25 minutes of staring.

yes, why? you wanna hang out? :)

I shouldn't be doing this. I really shouldn't. But a part of me was screaming for him; wanting to hold him close. For him to hold me close. Oh, good God, this is wrong.

As I was sitting there in my own thoughts, it started to ring. The phone buzzed in my back pocket, making me jump.

It was Josh.

Of course.

"Hello?" I said as I answered the phone.

"Jennifer! Hi! How are you?" He said enthusiasticlly, like I wasn't gonna answer.

"I'm good Josh, how about you?" It was like I could hear him grin from the other side of the phone.

"I will be good when you answer my question. I hope you say yes, I kinda have prepared something for us"

My instant thought was if this was a date. Cause if it is, I can't go on it. Can I? Oh fuck it, I will. But I still had to ask.

"You mean, like a..." I choked on the words before finishing "uhm... A date?"

"Yeah you can call it that!" He said, just as happy. I could feel the corners of my mouth slowly turning up, towards a smile.

"Yeah, of course I will go with you! What should I wear?"

"Oh you know, something formal. But don't stress about it too much, you'll look beautiful anyways," my chins entered a deep shade of pink and I goofily grinned from ear to ear "I'll pick you up at around 7 ok?"

"Okay, I'll see you then!" I said, way too happy.

"Bye sweetie"

Oh my gosh.

I hung up, too afraid that my voice will crack if I speak. I looked over at the clock, and it read 4 pm. He's coming in three hours. And my mom should be home soon. I need to tell her the news! I stood up, walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. I needed to calm down.

Since I had nothing else to do, I went upstairs, deciding on which outfit to wear. I putted my phone in my doc, and sat on a random playlist I found. Then I opened the closet. Nothing really stunning, I just own a couple of dresses. I tried on a blue bandage dress, with no straps, but it didn't really work out today.

I skimmed trough a pair of white dresses, and then my eyes landed on a golden dress. It was strapless, reached mid-thigh, and had some kind of fabric decoration around the waist. It was perfect for this evening. My mind started to wander and I started to wonder where he was taking me.

My thoughts were interrupted by a soft slam in the front door, and something that sounded like car keys. Mom.

"Jennifer darling? Are you upstairs?" She almost yelled into the house.

"Yeah, come up quickly, I gotta tell you something!" I yelled back, too exited to hide.

"What happened honey? Boy-news?" She asked as she walked into the room, her coat still on.

"Actually, yes, it is," I said, suddenly very shy and warm, especially on my cheecks and forehead, "his name is Josh and he asked me on a date tonight." I said the last part so quiet, I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't hear it.

"He did what?! Oh my gosh Jenn! When is he coming? Oh, what are you going to wear?" She stood up and started to pace over the floor, making the wood shrieck under her feet, and stressing me out even more.

"I already found the dress, but I was wondering if I could loan some jewllery and some heels from you?"

She just winked at me, and said "You go take a shower, and I'll take care of the rest"

***

When I got out of the shower, the steam was covering the mirror. I wiped it away with a towel, and found out that I looked like a raccoon. My mascara was running down my cheecks; I looked awful. I cleaned off the old mascara and added the new makeup, a smokey eye with nude lips and my normal eyebrow makeup plus a little bit blush. I then did my hair, which didn't take too long, considering I only have hair down to my shoulders. I starighten it, because it looks like a birdsnest if I don't.

When I got to my room, my dress is where I left it, with a pair of black heels, and a bracelet. I slipped on my dress, and put on the bracelet. I put on the shoes, they fitted perfectly. I turn around and see myself in the mirror.

Damn.

I actually look like I could be an international moviestar or something, ready to go on the red carpet. I go over to the nightstand and take my purse, and put my phone and some cash in it. Before I go downstairs, I take a last look at myself. Yup, I still look stunning.

The clock is 6:57 pm and I hear a knock on the door. I say bye to my mom, and go over to the door and open it. There he stands, in a white button-up shirt, black jeans and a red rose in his hand.

This will be fun.
