from the first time our hands met that evening, to the moment in his car before he drove away, it felt like we had become attached at the hip. I couldn't keep my hands, or lips, off of him.
he powered off the car as we returned to the starbucks lot. it was beginning to get dark, and he needed to head back to his hotel and his family. my heart began to ache. it felt like we had just begun whatever this was, and now it was over. like it was just an outing for the day and nothing more.
"I don't really want this to be the end." I gripped his hand, looking forward.
"this sure as hell won't be the end. i can spare some cash to fly out here. hell, ian met sam when she was living in georgia, and they're like married now. not that we're getting married or anything." I nodded, despite his awkwardness. I knew a difficult decision would come from this. "listen, neither of us know what this is. but clearly we're really into each other and I don't want to just never talk to you again. so let's just keep doing what we're doing."
"agreed. plus... i'd love to visit LA one day."
"yes, please! there's so much to see if you've never been. and I make a great tour guide." he shook my shoulders playfully. I giggled and leaned across the console to hold onto his arm.
"well you should probably get back to your family." I sighed.
"yeah, probably. but you are going to text me as soon as you get home right?"
"I promise, rockstar." I said, playfully. he pressed a kiss to my head and then unbuckled his seatbelt.
"let me walk you to your car."
we stepped out, and we strolled to my red nissan on the other side of the parking lot.
"this is me." I fiddled in my bag for my keys. as I looked up from my bag, he pulled me into another hug.
"so glad we got to meet, carson." his low voice boomed. he pulled back and pressed his lips to mine once again.
the string of kisses became more feverish, and I stepped backwards, pulling us both closer to my car. my back pressed up against the window, which was freezing cold now that the sun had gone down. I was warmed up by the pressure of his body, which had since pressed closely onto mine. both my hands reached up to hold his face, while his found their way down to my hips, and held me firmly to the car.
I once again melted into a puddle as he softly bit my lower lip. I felt like I couldn't be close enough to him, despite our closeness already. his thumbs snuck up from my waist to slighlty under the hem of my shirt, touching my bare torso.
we finally pulled apart.
"I can wait a little longer to go home." I whispered.
