A hand ran up and down my bare back as I blinked a few times, realizing I was in Chase's bed. I recollected the previous evening which brought a smile to my face and remembering staying up late because I didn't want the night to end.
I was so happy.
Chase's hand continued to run up and down my spine almost lulling me back to sleep. I was facing away from him so he hadn't realized I was awake yet. I'm not sure what we had planned for the day, probably something with his family. They were still here for a few more days so they'd have the chance to see us at work.
All I could think about though was after last night's events, it confirmed that I was going to be able to wake up to this for the rest of my life. The thought of it made me giddy and became a bit restless. This let Chase know that I was no longer sleeping and I felt him scoot in closer and leave soft kisses down my neck and across my shoulder.
"Good morning love."
I sighed reaching for his hand that was currently resting on my waist and pulling it to wrap around me so that his chest would be pressed against my back.
"You feeling okay?" Chase asked after I remained quiet.
I sighed giving his arms a tight squeeze, "Better than ever. You?"
"I get to wake up beside the most beautiful girl in the world, I'm feeling like the luckiest man alive," he responded and I smiled.
"I could do this every morning," I sighed not wanting to get up, "Do we have to get up though? Is your family waiting on us?"
"I haven't heard anything from them. And if I had, I'd make them wait," Chase responded and I giggled.
"I want to stay here forever then," I smiled holding onto his arms tightly.
"Then forever we'll stay," he answered.
I must have dozed off as the next sound I heard was Chase's phone ringing. He must have fallen asleep too as his voice sounded groggy when answering it. I turned over and put my head between the crook of his neck and his pillow and wrapped my arms around his torso.
"Yeah, we can be over shortly," he responded to whoever was on the phone. I assumed it was
his mom or one of his siblings. He ran a hand up and down my back as I sighed, "What were they thinking of doing?"They went back and forth until they hung up, "We gotta go?" I asked sadly, not wanting the morning to end. I had been on a high since last night and didn't want it to stop.
Chase chuckled noticing my mood change, "Unfortunately we must go back to reality."

What if Chase hadn't responded the way he had when I asked about being together forever? What if he didn't want to be with me forever?
The thoughts ran through my head as they called action and I started walking down the dock fiddling with my sleeves and keeping my eyes on my feet. Using these thoughts to bring out a darker mood. I passed Chase who was sitting by a tackle box and stringing some bait.
"Hey," I said before continuing walking to the edge of the dock
"Hey," he responded before following me as we stood side by side. He reached an arm to my shoulder and I pulled away slightly.
I sniffled, "I'm sorry," I sat down on the ground as we sat in silence for a moment.
"I'm sorry you had to see that," Chase apologized before sitting down beside me.
"The way you looked..." I started, "You looked almost...glad."
"I..." Chase sighed.
"I saw you," I said turning to him and making eye contact for the first time.
