"I am stressed," I said throwing yet another item that I thought would be essential into the cart.
"Yeah, Ikea can do that to you," Chase laughed as we continued onto the next section.
"I don't know why we offered to host when we don't even have furniture to sit on," I rubbed my hands down my face. We had offered to host the New Year's Eve party that was in two days and we hadn't even had a bed to sleep in yet.
"Relax, it'll all be fine," Chase told me reaching for my hands and pulling them away from my face, "Most everything is getting delivered today, and anything else we can hopefully find here."
"Yeah, but we only have so much time," I responded.
"How about we take a break and go get some Swedish meatballs, we haven't eaten in a bit," he offered and I nodded in agreement.
"Wait, did you just say that 'cause you know I get cranky when I'm hungry," I asked once we were sat in the cafeteria eating our food and Chase grinned. "Can you like not be a mind reader for once?" I sighed.
"Was I wrong?" He shot back with a smile.
I pursed my lips while taking a bite, "No."
We continued shopping before making our way back home. It was still a weird feeling to have a place to call home besides back in New Jersey with my parents. They were the first I called that night after we moved in and though they were sad they weren't going to see me as often I had reassured them that we had plenty of space for them as there was a small guest house in the backyard with a kitchen and everything for them.
Chase had said the backyard had made up for the size of the house as it was basically the same square footage if not more, "Of course Milo would get more space than us," I laughed as we watched him run around the fenced in yard when we got home.
"It's what he deserves," Chase stated and I laughed while nodding in agreement.
We had gotten some lights to hang up under the pergola in the back of the yard. We had an outdoor dining set that we wanted to set up here and which was on the way and would hopefully be here in time for the party. There was a fire pit in the middle of the yard and another seating area closer to the guest house. We were mainly focusing on getting furniture and decorating the main house before we would work on the guest house. It had been a stressful few days since I had arrived in LA but everything was coming together.
Once we finished hanging the lights we went inside and I focused on the bedrooms while Chase worked in the kitchen. The two beds arrived this morning for the master and guest bedroom. Our bedroom had a big glass door that opened to the backyard and was beautiful in the morning when the sun rose over the mountains in the distance. We had a large bathroom and an office where we could work and do interviews online. There was one other bedroom in the main house and then one in the guest house. I was currently putting together the bed frame that we had bought from someone online and only requested help when I needed assistance getting the mattresses on the frame.
"Hopefully it doesn't break," I stated as we both stood back and looked at our work but mainly my work.
"Oh, I can get it to break," Chase grinned and I hit him in the arm.
"What is with you and those jokes?" I shook my head before prepping the bedding.
"Well now we have our own place again, I can say them without anyone hearing them," he shrugged before heading back into the kitchen.
I continued on into the bathroom and hung up the freshly cleaned towels and put away all of my toiletries. Then I started decorating the guest bedroom and putting on the sheets.
