𝕿he night passed bringing a new day. It was a particularly special day for the Mediterranean Kingdom, for today was the annual Depenre Ball, a celebration amongst Mediterraneans to celebrate their freedom, and a chance to spark new trade deals amongst other kingdoms.
"Has everything been prepared?" An anxious brunette princess asks.
"Yes your heigness, all the preparation are ready" her assistant replies as she checks the list of preparations to be done for the ball in her hand.
"Are you sure? Check over the decor one more time, and the food- oh and are all the guests aware of the trade terms?" Indra asks pacing from one end of her bedroom to the other. Since she was about to be coronated, the role of handling the Dependre ball fell on her hands, and the ball being the highest source of yearly income the kingdom receives, it was a huge task that had to go perfectly.
A gentle knock suddenly stops the princess in her thoughts. She looks to the door and meets with the face of her mother as she quietly enters her daughter's room.
"Indra may I talk to you in private?" She asks, but mostly signalling for her assistant to Leave. She gets the hint and leaves with a bow.
"Indra.." her mother began, placing a hand on her daughter's shoulder. "..I know the Dependre ball is a big deal, but you need to calm down my dear, you've been preparing for this for a while now no need to fuss about it"
The princess let's out a sigh, taking a seat on her bed "I know mother... it's just that I really want this to go well, I read once that the last queen to mess up a Dependre was as good as exiled by her people" she explains. Her mother chuckles, running a hand through her daughter's thick Brunnette locks as she sat besides.
"Oh don't think too deeply about those silly history books, that was light years ago and people are much more civil"
"But moth-"
"But nothing. Indra Calder I have warned you that if you kept your eyes glued to so many books it will mess with your head, now look at you" the queen nags her daughter. She crosses her arms and looks away.
"I can't help that they reassure me.." she replies in a quieter tone. Her mother smiles at her. "You really are your father's daughter, that man couldn't even make a move on me without reading on what to do" Queen Derya jokes.
"Really?" Indra giggles intrigued.
"Oh yes we would have been married long earlier if he wasn't so much of a bookworm to come out of his shell and present a proposal" Derya explains massaging her daughter's hair.
"So then how did he finally do it?" Indra asks.
"Well...one day, when his family visited the palace, I went over and tried to talk to him, he was reading as usual, so I decided to be devious and when he wasn't looking, I took his book and ran, and good Lord was he angry" she replies. Indra couldn't contain her amusement and burst out laughing, she could imagine the look on her father's face.
"I can't believe this, my mother was a troublemaker" she laughs wiping a tear.
"I wouldn't say troublemaker, I just liked to have fun. Well anyways, when he finally found me in the library, I told him I had no idea where his book was, he was a bit hesitant and I knew he didn't believe me, but we finally sat and talked, and it was smooth sailing from there" she says, a smile at her fond memories creeping on the Queens face.
"Aww" Indra gushes "that was an adorable story" she adds smiling at her mother.
"Well, the lesson is, calm down and focus on your present alright?" She advised, grabbing her daughter's face and kissing her cheek.
"Yes mother" she replies with a laugh.
"Right, you should be getting ready, it's almost time and I think the guests have started arriving, good luck my darling Little water Lilly" Derya says making her way to the door.
"Thank you" Indra replies.

It was mid-day, meaning that the ceremony was about to begin. Royals from all parts of Mediterranea and beyond gathered to celebrate Dependre. After the talk with her mother, Princess Indra was more calm and prepared for the task at hand.
"Welcome to the Annual Dependre ball ladies" Indra announces, entering the main ballroom, her friends following close behind as they arrive with their guests.
"This is lovely Indra" Arpina says scanning the venue.
"Thank you, I put alot of time and effort into getting everything just right" she replies.
The blue crystal walls glistened with Lapis and Sapphire gems, resembling the glistening waters all around the castle. White drapes and gold curtains decorated the ceilings and windows, buffet tables and chairs were arranged all around the room, with a space in the centre set aside for ball dancing, a huge crystal chandelier hung above it.
"Well your efforts have really payed off Indy" doa says patting her shoulder. "Yes well done" Avani adds making Indra smile.
"I've never been to a ball in the light realm, but so far I'm pleased" Azura says.
"Thank you all" Indra replies.
"It's fine..." Luna began, taking a sip from the wine glass handed to her "... mediocre, but alright for a light witch" she adds silently, but loud enough for Indra to hear, the words making the princess glare at the dark witch.
"I-" she began, but a hand on her shoulder interrupts her. "Let's not allow her ruin your evening Indra" Arpina whispers to her friend. Indra nods and decides to just brush it off.
"Um ladies, please make your way to your individual posts according to your kingdoms, the trade ceremony is starting soon" Indra says gesturing towards the round table full of different chairs at the center of the stage, each chair with the name of a kingdom.
"Ofcourse" Doa says. Arpina, Avani and herself Making their way to the table.
"Um Indra.." Azura starts anxiously. ".. are you sure I should make this deal, I mean I'm still a dark witch, am I even allowed to?" She asks.
"Don't worry Azura I've got it all covered, there's no rule book that says otherwise" Indra replies.
"Okay then" azura says.
"And it will do well as some sort of peace treaty between the Realms" Indra adds.
"Yes ofcourse, that's what we're fighting for after all" she says.
"Precisely" replies the light witch.
Azura makes her way to the stage, and takes her own seat smartly set besides Arpina's. All eyes set on the dark witch, most shocked at her appearance, seeing as this has never happened since the war. The dark witch looks away trying to avoid the stares, Arpina grabs her hand under the table in attempts to calm her down. Whatever was about to happen would go down in history.
