𝕴ndra makes her way to center stage, where the eyes of all attended were fixated on her. She mentally prepares herself for the speech she has memorized many times, as she motions for the royal orchestra, the music comes to a halt, and the princess begins her speech.
"Greetings, people of Mediterranea and beyond, and welcome to the Annual Dependre Ball!.." she greets causing the room to errupt in applause. "My sincerest appreciation goes to all those who have worked so hard in order to ensure the success of this particularly special event, and for all the witches and wizards that could make it possible for this occasion to commence in goodwill once again. As we all know, this event is hosted by the Queen, and passed on from kingdom to kingdom, and so I am beyond honored to be able to host this year's ball as the crowned princess, and future Queen..." she trailed on. She looks around, glad to see she has captivated her audience, but a particular set of icy blue eyes stare at hers in nothing but coldness and even a twinge of envy.
Those eyes belonging to none other than the witche's very own guest, Luna.
Although the strange look from the dark witch, the princess continues on.
"Over the years, the gathering of many powerful nations for this event has created memorable experiences, established long standing international bonds, and even created some friendly rivalries. But above all they remind us of our love and alliance with one another. So without further hesitation may the Dependre trade ball commence!"
The crowd immediately roars with excitement and applause, as the princess bows and looks back at her parents, pride beaming through their features as they watched their daughter Excell at her first job as future queen.
"Your speech was lovely Indra, I'm proud of you" Arpina tells her friend as she makes her way to the a seat besides them.
"I had no doubt you'd do well, your parents look so proud" says Doa looking over to the throne the current king and queen sat. Indra's eyes met with her parents and her father gives her a simple nod as he smiles at her.
"Thank you... thank you all for the encouragement" she replies. For some reason, she felt Asif there were hot flames burning at the back of her head, and her being a witch, her senses were heightened, and she could feel a presence focusing on her. She scans the room, searching for where that sensation was coming from, and ofcourse it was none other than the familiar dark witch.
As her eyes met with hers, the two ladies stare at each other intently, Indra with a confused look on her features and Luna one that held resentment.
𝑤ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑔𝑖𝑟𝑙𝑠 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑏𝑙𝑒𝑚..? Indra pondered.
Their staring contest was soon brought to an end with a voice interrupting the princess's thought.
"Well looks like the men have finally arrived" Doa says looking at the entrance where familiar faces scan the room as they enter. One of them, being duke Ren. Noticing doa the Duke gives her a small smile and in return she only nods to be polite. Soon enough his soon to be wife joins him, taking her husband's hand fondly she smiles proudly at the crowd around her. Doa couldn't stand the sight of the two of them, even if she wouldn't admit it, so to distract herself she shifts her gaze to another familiar face.
"..And look who else it is..." She adds with a smirk pointing at a familiar wizard. The girls look to the direction she had pointed at, and a hot blush immediately creeps onto Avani's features.
"Adrien!" Indra calls out to her cousin. His eyes meet with hers and he makes his way to their table.
"Looks like someone's a bit nervous" Arpina teases causing doa to giggle.
"Avani are you alright?" Arpina adds as avani stares down, not even daring to look up at the prince walking towards them.
"I- ofcourse...why wouldn't I be..?" She replies with a nervous giggle. Doa and Arpina exchange knowing glances before Indra returns to the table with her cousin.
"Good evening your highnesses" Adrien greets as he approaches the princesses.
"Evening, prince Adrien, nice seeing you again" Doa says with a cheeky smile.
"Same here" Arpina adds.
"It's always a pleasure" he replies politely.
"Uhm excuse me.." Avani says quickly standing up from the table and making her way out of the ball room. Aidren looks at her confused, but Indra, doa and Arpina knew exactly why she had left.
"May I ask you all a question" Aidren asks in a hush tone as he sat on the seat Avani had left behind.
"Ofcourse you can" Arpina replies in an obvious tone. The prince had always been overly polite.
"Does..." He hesitates for a moment "...does Avani...hate me?" He asks trying to hide the sadness laced in his tone. His curly blonde locs slightly covered his eyes, but in truth, the girls could still see the dissapointment in his dark blue eyes.
"Ofcourse she doesn't hate you....or have you done anything for her to hate you?" Indra asks.
"Well that's it I don't know, ever since I came back she's been very distant and we don't talk as much as I'd hoped we would, we were childhood best friends what happened?" He confessed sounding defeated.
"Well.." Arpina looks at her friends knowing they were thinking the same thing. "... I can assure you she doesn't hate you, but, I think you should talk to her, maybe she's overwhelmed with becoming queen"
"Yes... you're probably right" he replies.
"You know what, I think you should go look for her, she must be around the palace somewhere" Indra advises. He nods and smiles at them.
"Thank you, your highnesses" he says, bowing before taking his leave.
"Well...that will be interesting" Doa says watching as he walks away.
"And look who else is here" Arpina says. Indra traces get gaze to a man in a dark blue tux.
