"Avani?" A voice she knew all too well calls out to her. Turning around her eyes are met with those of her childhood best friend.

Avani's curly brown locs blew slightly with the cold Mediterranean breeze. She had escaped to a nearby corridor overlooking the kingdom. It was quiet and mostly empty so she had hoped she could have some alone time before going back to the ball, but it looked like that plan had failed miserably.

"Aidren...um I mean, Prince Adri-"

"With all due respect Vani could we drop the formalities? I know you are a future queen and I, a mere prince from a small kingdom, but still, I thought we were friends... But it seems we aren't even on a first name basis" he admits. A twinge of guilt fills the princess at his words.

"Adrien... it's not like that.." she began.

"It's not like what? The fact that you have completely thrown away our years of friendship? Or that for some reason since I came back you've been constantly avoiding me?" He spat, leaving Avani surprisingly taken aback.

Adrien had never raised his voice at her.

A moment of silence goes by between the two. Yes, the princess was a bit introverted, but rarely was she lost for words when it came to her close relations.

"Adrien, ofcourse we are friends, we have been for a long time..." She admits looking up at him, a glimpse of hope lighting his features. "But.." she began, the little bit of hope washing off him. "..ever since you came back, it's been strange, I don't know, it's hard to say.."

"Strange? in what way?" He asks concerned.

"You're... different" she replies looking away from him.

"Different how? Good or bad?" His worry increasing. She makes her way to an open window by the corridor, looking down at the palace gates as the setting sun shown on her delicate features. She smiles to herself as she thought about the question.

"Good..very good... infact, too good" she replies as she gazes unto the outside world.

"Forgive me Vani but, I do not understand" Adrien says approaching her.

"Look at you Adrien, we were kids when you had left, but never would have I expected you'd come back looking like... this" she says scanning him. He gives her a confused look.

"You're so....so handsome, more handsome than I remember, I can't say anything to your face, because, look at your face, I'm beyond flustered when you're around and with the coronation soon approaching I don't even have the time to understand what I'm feeling and why I'm feeling it" she confesses. The Prince's eyes light up by her words.

"So instead of processing it, I run away and try to avoid you, but I have morals and I know it's wrong of me to do so, so I'm sorry Adrien, the future Queen of keithia is a confused, flustered, mess" she finally says. A few moments pass by as they stood before each other. Avani looked away while Adrien remained silent, staring at the girl infront of him.

"I know I'm wrong but can you atleast say someth-"
Her rant is suddenly interrupted as the tall slender prince engulfes her in a hug. He was quite tall, so Avani's small form rested on his closely, so close that she could hear his heart beat beneath his chest.

"I understand Vani" he says as he holds her.

"You do?"she asks relieved.

"Yes because I feel the exact way. Avani take a moment and look at yourself, you're beautiful and I was blown away by the gorgeous woman you've grown to be, you don't owe me an apology, and you are not a mess, I've heard of all the great things you've accomplished while I've been gone, and your royal decree? Something like that takes courage and I couldn't be prouder" he confesses as he stares at the witch's emerald orbs. Her eyes weld up with tears as she hugs him back tightly.
