"Is this your house?"
As I raise my throbbing head to the car window, I can see the faint outline of my house, illuminated by the car lights. Closing my eyes for a second to regain my composure, I quickly answer. "Yeah, this is it."
I hear the sound of the car door beside me open. Summoning the remaining strength that I have, I hastily open my car door and exit.
"Is anyone home? Should I call someone?"
Is anyone home?
...
"Yeah. My sister..."
"Oh, should I call her? I hope she's awake at-"
I reach into my pocket, taking out my house keys.
"I-it's fine. I have the keys."
I begin to slowly walk towards the front door of my house. Approaching the front door, I shakily put the key into the keyhole.
...
Oh, right..
After a brief pause I turn around. Blinking from the light of the car lights, I bow my head.
"Thank you for driving me home tonight. I apologize for taking up you time, and I should've known that the last train-"
They stop me.
"Don't worry, it's fine! Honestly, I should be thanking you. When Aiko-chan told me that someone applied for part-time at CiRCLE, I was really excited!"
"Lately, we were running short on staff members lately, and none of us knew how to repair equipment, so we would always end up asking Maya-chan to help us, even before their own shows."
Maya... Wasn't that the girl from...
"When Aiko-chan told that you had experience in repairing equipment, I felt relieved. It's almost like it was destiny for us to meet!"
My cheeks warm slightly. Was it destiny? No, it couldn't be. It's just a very convenient coincidence.
...
Right?
...
"Anyways! I think I should get going. It's starting to get late and I don't want to keep you awake any longer!" They begin to turn to go back into their car.
"Wait!", I say. "Thank you. For doing this for me. I really appreciate it. I'll pay you back, someday."
Stopping for a second, they begin to quietly giggle.
"I'll be waiting then. Good night, (L/N)-san." She waves.
"Good night..."
What was their name again...? I never did get their name...
"Oh, I never told you my name. I'm Marina."
"Oh. Then, good night, Miss Marina."
She giggles again, but more loudly.
"No need to call me 'Miss'. Just call me Marina."
My eye widening in embarrassment, I look down. "S-sorry. Good night, Marina."
"See you tomorrow!"
...
...
I watch as the car pulls away from the driveway, then into the streets. Finally turning around, I put the key into the keyhole.
Marina...
