Man, highschool is a hassle. Sorry for not updating this for 3 months. I'm in my final year of highschool, and I've been spending all of my free time doing homework/projects and applying to colleges, so I haven't gotten any time to update this. Don't worry, when I graduate, hopefully updates will become more steady and consistent.
Also, I don't know anything about instruments (i only play the piano), so sorry if I'm talking out of my ass..!

"Hmm..."
My eyebrows furrow as I stare at the amplifier. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with anything on the exterior.
Grabbing the amplifier, I spin it around on the cart.
*Click!*
"So, anything wrong with it that you can see?", Maya says, walking into a room with a box in her hands. Dropping it on a nearby table, she takes off her hat.
"What's that?", I ask, pointing to the box.
"It's a box of tools that CiRCLE has lying around. Marina-san lets me tinker around with the equipment here during off-hours. Huehehe."
I kneel down, looking closely at the exterior ports(?). "Cool, just leave it there."
"Pfft. (L/N)-san, that's a seriously funny face you're making there. Reminds me of when Onee-chan plays the guitar."
"Hina-san, don't tease him."
"Hehe~"
Ignoring them, I stand up. "Yamato-san, can you help me with this?"
"Okay!" She says, rushing over. Grabbing one side of it she goes to the other.
"Ready? Three, two, one..!"
We both lift the amplifier off the cart. We slowly walk a few steps away from the cart.
"Hang on. I want to face this on its side. Ready?"
"O-okay! Ready?"
Straining, I lift up my side of the amplifier until it's on its front. We then crouch slowly until the amplifier carefully touches the ground.
"Ooh~ So strong!"
Once again, ignoring Hina, I take one last look at the exterior of the amp.
..There clearly isn't anything wrong with the exterior. If there really isn't anything wrong with the outside, then there's only two other possible causes.
One, that there's something wrong with something inside it. If that really is the case, then I can't really do anything about it myself. It's possible that Maya would be able to fix it, but most likely we'll have to bring it to a professional, which is both troublesome and expensive.
I doubt Marina, or even anyone at CiRCLE, have the time and money to do that...
"L/N-san, is something wrong? You have a concerned look on your face."
I blink. "O-oh. Sorry, it's nothing. It's just..."
...Wait.
"...Hang on."
"Huh?"
It seems obvious. Surely no one would mistake that for a genuine problem with the amp...right?
"Hikawa-san."
She curiously turns to me. "Hm?"
"You left your guitar in the other practice room right? Can you bring your guitar here? I want to see if something is what I think it is."
Tilting her head, she raises an eyebrow. "Huh? But why?"
"Can you also bring guitar cable with you?"
"Uh, okay."
As Hina walks out of the room Maya turns to me.
"Eh? Why'd you asked for Hina's guitar?"
Standing up, I lift up the amp.
"I need to move this over there so I can plug this in."
"O-okay..."
I drag the amp the corner of the room, plugging it in.
"I know this may sound silly, but what if there wasn't anything wrong with the amp itself?"
A confused look forms on Maya's face. "Nothing wrong with it? But the person who brought it in said that it was making weird noises whenever she played her guitar with it."
"Yes, I know that. But what if she made the mistake of thinking that her amp was faulty, while it actually was something entirely different?"
"What if the amp wasn't faulty... but-"
"...the guitar cable was?", Maya interrupts.
"Exactly! Maybe it was actually the cable that wasn't working properly. Maybe it was the guitar itself!"
*Click!*
Hina steps back into the room, her pastel blue guitar in her hand.
"Here." She hands her guitar to me. "I overheard what you two were saying."
Maya puts a finger to her chin. "Well, if that's the case, then when you plug Hina's guitar into the amp with her guitar cable..."
"Then it should sound normal when I play it."
I look at Hina. "Is it okay?"
"Yeah, sure! At this point I'm just curious if you're right."
Grabbing the guitar and cable, I slowly plug it into the amp.
"Well, here goes nothing..."
*Waang!*
I strike the guitar. As the crisp sound of the guitar rings throughout the room, I feel the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I unknowingly grin. "Rad."
"Wow~. Seeing you getting all pumped up is making me excited too. Hey, (L/N)-san?", Hina asks. "Can you play the guitar?"
"Oh! When Chisato-san told us that you were going to be working here, I got a little curious."
I look away, slightly embarrassed. "W-well..."
"O-oh!" Maya exclaims. "You don't have to if you don't want to. I understand that you have work to do..."
Stopping for a second, I look down at the blue guitar in my hands. If I remember, this is an Anderson Drop Top. Strings recently replaced.
As I continue to stare at the guitar in my hands, my heart starts beating faster. I haven't felt this way about anything for a long time. Not since that school...
"(L/N)-san?"
I know it's been a while...but this could be...
...
...
...
"Sure," I reply.
"Let's jam out."
