Chapter 1: Oblivion

Immediately all I could feel was pain. Scorching, blazing agony.

It felt as if my skin was being stabbed with a thousand tiny little needles going over my body in waves, increasing speed and intensity with each layer. Light flashed around me, and I tried to search for my siblings, begging the universe for them not to be in as much pain as I was.

My prayers went unheard as I saw two figures of light in front of me flailing around as gravity pulled us through the never ending tunnel, crying out in pain.

I would cry if I could, but I couldn't close my eyes as the force of speed was too great to keep them closed. I saw colors whizz past us in a rainbow haze, sparks of light flying out of the wall that seemed to separate us from whatever that lay beyond.

It was like the bifrost to Asgard, but much more intense, and painful.

Before I could try to call out, a circle of light flashed into view on our left and we were yanked from the current and now flying at an incredible speed.

And then the pain was gone.

     The portal vanished around us.

     And we were falling.

     Falling fast.

"Uh, GUYS?!" Braeden screamed. I whipped my head to my right and was shocked at what I saw. But I looked twice at what lay ahead of us and it so happened to be the lovely Earth approaching us rapidly.

"We're all gonna die!" Annabelle cried, curling up into a ball whilst still falling. I was confused because we were falling too fast to control our body to oppose the air force from around us and NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO THINK ABOUT LOGIC.

"IF WE DIE I'M GONNA KILL YOU, Y/N," Braeden screamed.

"ME TOO," I agreed, the ground only a few hundred meters away.

     One hundred meters away.

     A few yards away.

I closed my eyes and braced for impact, but nothing came. I hesitantly peaked through my eye and saw the ground right in front of my face, and realized I was hovering a foot above. I reached my hand out and right as I touched the smallest blade of grass, I fell the remaining foot and finally had impact from an actual surface. The wind was knocked out of me, and I struggled the first few seconds of this new place to breathe.

"That's what you get," Annabelle grumbled, kicking me in the side.

I groaned, and curled into a ball. "Yep. I deserved that."

Braeden picked himself up and looked around. "So, where are we exactly?"

I rolled over and hoisted myself to my feet. "I don't know, Braeden. It's not like we jumped through a portal and switched freaking universes."

"What makes you say we switched universes?"

I sighed, still in denial that this was really happening. I pinched the bridge of my nose, shaking my head. "Look at your surroundings, you dimwit."

He looked behind me, not seeing what the real change was. "What do you- Oh."

"Why are we in 2D?" Annabelle asked, twirling in a circle to admire herself. "I mean, I feel like my regular self and can see everything, but..." She shrugged, smiling.

I patted her head. "An excellent question, my smartest sibling."

     "Hey!" Braeden shouted in protest.

I ignored him. "My first guess with this big brain of mine and my oh so vast knowledge about plot, we're in the Rise of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show." My siblings gaped at me, but I bounced around. "Isn't this exciting?!"

"Woah, woah, woah. Hold up," Braeden said, shaking his head. "We're in what now? But that's-"

"-not possible? Well now it is. And what we do now will probably mess up the timeline of future events," I said matter-of-factly.

Annabelle raised an eyebrow. "Meaning you can actually make Donoteel fall in love with you? Like in those fan fictions you write?"

I spun towards her, finger raised and cheeks flushed, but puckered my lips defiantly and turned my head away, arms crossed. "I do no such things. I have better things to do in my free time."

They both snickered, and I rolled my eyes.

"But for real, though. It's getting dark. Where are we actually and where do we go?" Braeden asked.

I shrugged. "Plot armor will help us. We'll meet the turtles in no time."

"I think you're relying on plot armor a bit too much," Braeden said as we began walking towards the structures in the distance. We had landed in a field of dirt (probably an abandoned construction site) and saw light up ahead, the sun starting to set in the horizon. "That could backfire on you if you're not careful."

"Ooo, what's this I see? Foreshadowing?" Annabelle said, kicking a rock.

"Relax, guys. We'll be home in no time. And it's Donatello, Annabelle," I said, defending my most current obsession. Although I was sixteen, I still had to simp over someone.

"Oh, I know. Just wanted to see how you'll react when you meet your one true love."

I narrowed my eyes and the other two laughed. I joined along after a while, hoping to see the turtles soon.

And soon we did see, indeed.
