"Home sweet home" Kelly said, opening the door to the house the three of them used to live in together. He and Casey stayed there the entire time seeing as the both of them had separate rooms and Michelle changed rooms every night.
"It's weird being here again" Michelle said, looking around and seeing not a lot has changed. The pictures were still hanging there, the stuff she left was still laying there. Almost as if she never left. "It's your house as well, babe. You can come back anytime." Kelly said, turning towards his girl and hoping to convince her to move back in with them.
"I don't think this is a good idea. I'll call Shay and see if I can stay with her." Michelle quickly said, feeling as if everything was going to fast right now. "Woah, hold on sweetheart. What did we do? You can stay in my room. I'll sleep on the couch." Matt said, stepping in to hopefully avoid Michelle going to stay somewhere else. "No it's- there's too many memories here. I need to-" Michelle stammered, making Kelly grab ahold of her, bring her in for a hug and say "sorry babe. I didn't mean to go too fast. We'll take it as slow as you want." "You're already talking about us getting back together. It's not a question of if but when for you. How are you so sure?" Michele asked the both of them a bit upset after stepping out of Kelly's hug. "You're the one for us, love. And from the past three and some years we know we're the ones for you as well. We'll be together again." "Casey's right. We love you so much and we know you still love us too. But like I said: we'll take it as slow as you want. Just let us prove to you that we should be together again." Kelly added, making Michelle nod and say that she'll stay for the night. "That's our girl." Kelly said enthusiastically, kissing her cheek, making Michelle giggle a bit. "And there's the giggle we missed around here" Matt added, before wrapping his arm around her waist and sneaking a kiss on her temple before guiding her towards his room. "Good night Kelly" she yelled out while going to Matt's room, making Kelly yell back "good night Princess" before silently adding "I love you".
After Matt showed her his room and handed her a shirt to wear to bed, he kissed her cheek and wished her good night as well. As soon as he walked out of the room, Michelle called him back to say "good night Matt. Thanks for letting me stay here." before kissing his cheek making him feel as if he was on cloud 9.
Sleep came to Michelle fairly quickly. It was really familiar to her. The only thing she missed was being cuddled by Matt or Kelly while sleeping but other than that almost everything felt the same. The next morning Michelle woke up well rested. Out of habit she went to the kitchen to make some coffee and some breakfast for her and the boys. Forgetting that Matt slept on the couch last night she was a bit startled when she suddenly heard whistling coming from there before he said "well you're definitely still looking better in my clothes than I am" while obviously checking her out, making her blush a bit when she realized he was wearing nothing but his boxers. "Well isn't this a sight for sore eyes." Kelly said from behind her, also shirtless, making Michelle question everything she was doing from the breakup until now.
"Good morning guys. How'd you sleep?" Michelle asked, trying to divert her eyes from both guys' abs. "You can look you know? It's all yours baby." Kelly cheekily said, walking closer to her, cornering her against the kitchen counter. Kelly loved it to make Michelle blush. And boy, did she blush. "I- uh-" Michelle started to stammer out when the three of them heard a phone going off. "Oh that's mine." she quickly said before escaping and picking up the phone.
"Hello?" "Hey Michelle, it's Jay. Halstead." "Oh hey Jay, what's up?" was what Kelly and Matt heard and it got their attention. "Nothing much. Was just wondering if you maybe wanted to grab some coffee later today?" "Yeah sure! Meet me at 3 at Starbucks?" "Great, see you then!" "See you, bye!" She said, ending the call and seeing the two firefighters with small frowns on their faces.
"So what are your plans for today?" Kelly asked, trying to get Michelle to spill who Jay was and why she was going to meet at Starbucks at 3. "Nothing much, I think I'll go home soon and then hang around a bit." "And the friend you're meeting at 3?" Kelly straight up asked. He wasn't one to beat around the bush for too long. "What about it?" She asked him, slightly pissed off. "Well, who is he?" Kelly asked, getting jealous and angry. Matt was looking at the two and not entirely sure what to do. He was angry as well if someone would be hitting on their girl, but he wasn't entirely sure that was the case so he just wanted to see how things would play out. "It's Jay, Jay Halstead from intelligence. He asked me to grab some coffee so I will" "really Michelle? Jay?! He's been crushing on you since you met!" Kelly almost screamed, really struggling with keeping calm. "He wants to get in your pants!" He added, making Michelle snap "and you don't want that? We're not together Kelly. I can do what I want with whom I want." "You're still our girl, Michelle. I'm not going to let you drink coffee with him cause he knows we're on a break right now" "we're not a break. We broke up. There's a difference in that." "But we're getting back together again. And that asshole knows that. He just wants to swoop in and prevent that cause he is crushing on you." "Well you don't have any say in this as we're not together. I knew this was a mistake. Enjoy your coffee." Michelle said, storming off towards Matt's room to get her stuff and referring to the pot of coffee she just made.
"Kelly-" "why didn't you step in, Casey? You can't agree with her going out with detective giggles, can you?" "Of course I don't, Severide. But this is only pushing her away. If she was our girl you would also let her go get coffee with Jay." Matt said, making a good point as there had been more coffee grabbing with Jay while the three of them were together. "He knew then that she was our girl and Michelle would never cheat on us. He knows she's technically single now so if he wants he can make a move and I know he wants to." Kelly said, calming down significantly. It was just his insecurity with the current situation that made him react so feverishly. He didn't really know how to handle the fact that she was not officially their girl at this moment and he was scared that people -Jay- would definitely take advantage of that. His behavior definitely didn't make the situation any better.
