SURPRISE UPDATE!!!!
...
It would seem that Kirishima's words had not happened at all. Class 1-A did not see Hiraku in the next few days. The only time they would see her, was if she was doing an interview on tv, or if she was on the news doing hero work.
But instead of feeling bummed out, they were just happy for the girl. All of them knew that Hiraku was happiest when she was in her own element. Although they thought that it would not have been bad if she contacted them once in a while.
Katsuki on the other hand was mildly ticked off. She still texted him and they would call each other every other day, but it was not enough. He did not want to admit it out loud, but he missed the annoying girl.
He missed her annoying voice, her smile that widened everytime she saw that he was annoyed, but he could not do anything. She was a pro hero and he was just a hero in training.
Hiraku spent her days after her suspension got lifted, doing hero work, doing paperwork, and doing interviews. She had a lot of interviews. She was sure that she had her jaw locked from all the smiling she has done. She missed her friends. She missed talking to them. She missed having fun with them.
But she missed Katsuki most. She was used to seeing him, so not having him in her sights lowered her mood. She missed talking to the boy, looking at his eyes, and just being in his presence. She missed how shy he would get whenever she boldly tells him her feelings. She missed him so much.
"Oh! Easy there, mister!" Hiraku exclaimed as she dodged a knife coming for her head.
She was currently in the middle of a heated brawl with a criminal. The criminal had robbed a store, and she ran after the guy, and proceeded to engage in a knife fight with him.
After seeing an opening, which resulted in her getting stabbed on her side, she knocked the man out with a quick kick.
She huffed looking at her bleeding side and muttered, "Damn..That hurt.."
After restraining the man, she teleported him to a police station. When she completed the report, she went home and headed straight for the bathroom.
That day, she had been stabbed and shot a total of 10 times. She was lucky she had a quirk that could heal her, if not she would have been six feet underground. There was no denying that she had the tendency to be completely reckless. Although she would always blame it on her quirk.
After changing into clean clothes, which consisted of a huge dark hoodie with similarly dark pants and red converses, she went to lie down on her bed. She had still yet to find where her red hoodie was.
She laid down on her bed with a huge sigh of relief. Her body felt heavy from the over-use of her quirk. As she drifted off to sleep, a loud ringing sound echoed in her room.
She frowned and stood up, looking for her phone. When she found it, she eyed the caller and answered it.
"Is this an eme–"
"Asra, come to the office immediately."
Hiraku groaned in pain at the sound of Nighteye's voice. She did not even bother changing and just proceeded to teleport directly to the office.
She regretted that choice immediately when she saw the occupants of the room. She was about to go back inside her portal, but was stopped by Nighteye.
"Where do you think you're going?"
"To change?" she replied with a forced smile, disbelief prominent on her features.
"Don't bother, I'll be quick," Nighteye stated, going back to his seat. The other occupants of the room looked like foreign officers. Hiraku did not make any eye contact as she sat on a chair in front of Nighteye's table. "She may not look like it, but this is the number 3 hero, Asra."
Hiraku knew she should be insulted, but she was too embarrassed to say anything. She just shrunk inside her hoodie, doing everything to make herself invisible, but to no avail. She was still visible and all eyes were on her now. She waved her hand with an awkward laugh.
"Heyyy..."
"Asra, do you remember Target?" Hiraku's eyes lit up at the name.
When Hiraku was suspended and shipped into another country, a pro hero named Target was one of her classmates in a training class.
Although her and the hero were complete opposites of each other, they got along surprisingly well. Target was a few years older than her, and she was also one of the few people who knew Hiraku's real identity.
"Of course! Why?" she questioned, her eyes filled with curiosity.
"Target has specifically requested for you to be her partner in one of our joint investigation," Nighteye replied, settling on his chair, "We have located small traces of one of those quirk drugs in their country. This mission will be incredibly dangerous. Now, you were not supposed to join since you are the number 3 hero and are too valuable to us, but Target has specifically asked for you. She will not force you if you do not want to, though. So, will you?"
Hiraku thought about it for a second. Target asking for her only meant that the mission was dangerous. Target knew what Hiraku was capable of. And if she trusted her enough to specifically ask for her, who was she to deny her friend's request?
"I accept," Hiraku answered the now grim-looking Nighteye. "When am I leaving?"
"Now."
"What!? But I–" Hiraku stopped herself, her eyes wide as she unconsciously stood up. She wanted to protest, she really did. She knew that tomorrow was her friends' provisional license exams, and she wanted to be there. She was finally ready to apologize to them. She could not leave now! Who knows what will happen on the mission?!
"We will be leaving in a few hours, Asra. Grab your things and send your farewells," one of the foreign officers stated. All of them left the room a few seconds later, leaving the two pro heroes.
"You should not have accepted it."
Hiraku looked at Nighteye in confusion and asked, "What do you mean?"
"I have a bad feeling, Hiraku," Nighteye replied, rubbing his forehead as he sunk into his chair even more. Hiraku gave him a questioning look, asking him to elaborate. "After you accepted the mission, I– I'm afraid I cannot see your future anymore, Hira-chan."
Hiraku gasped softly at the information. She trusted Nighteye with her life, and there was no way that he would lie to her. She was scared. What if something happened to her? She did not care. This was part of her job. She was a hero, and it was her duty to put her life on the line for others. It would be an honor to die in the line of duty.
Hiraku decided she would see her friends a few minutes from now. If something happened to her, she would feel at ease if she saw her friends one last time.
"I'll be fine, Mirai," she reassured the man, her soft smile wavered as she wiped a tear.
"You'll die, Hiraku."
