12 | White Day

As Hikari wrapped up her final exam, she smiled knowing that because of Yuki's help, Tohru would also do much better this time around. As much as Hikari wished she could help out Tohru on the more academic side of things, she was a horrible teacher.

Hikari also couldn't help but wonder if Momiji did good on his exams, despite being a year younger than her. Hikari found herself thinking about him a lot, lately. Everytime she would try something new she would think "Would Momiji like this?", or when she saw something bunny-themed at the store she would think "Momiji would totally love this, right?".

Unfortunately she wasn't the only one who had realized how... Interested she was about the blond. Kyo noticed, and she was pretty sure Yuki did too, but he stayed quiet for her sake (something she was incredibly thankful for). When it came to Kyo, teasing was relentless, but he kept it to a minimum amount around Tohru. That was mostly because he knew Hikari wasn't afraid to tease him about his fondness for her, but he wouldn't say that aloud.

Hikari and Tohru had just gotten out of work, Momiji walking them home as per usual.

"So why are you spending the night again?" Hikari's face looked as confused as she felt.

"Can't say! It's a surprise, afterall!" The boy repeated for the second time that night.

"A surprise...?" Tohru wondered outloud.

"Yep! You'll see,"

Hikari just sighed, a blush on her face when Momiji intertwined their fingers. However, she couldn't help the twinge in her chest when he grabbed Tohru's hand, too.

Was this anger? No way. Never would she be angry at Tohru, especially because of something Momiji did. Whatever this feeling was, it was ugly. Hikari quickly pushed it out of her mind as best as she could.

"So, have you told the two of them why you're spending the night?" Shigure asked Momiji over the dinner table later that evening.

"Nope not yet, but question for Hikari and Tohru!" Momiji paused as his hand flew into the air, a sure sign of his excitement. "Do you guys know what day it is tomorrow?"

Hikari's eyes widened in realization, while Tohru blurted out the answer.

"It's white day tomorrow, I almost forgot!" Hikari guessed.

"It sure is, and I'm taking us all out on a nice trip to the hot spring!" Momiji announced.

"Hmm, is that so..." Hikari trailed off, thinking about Tohru's eminent reaction to the price of an activity like soaking in a hot spring.

"He just dropped a bomb like that and that's all you have to say?" Kyo deadpanned.

"Shut up, Ginger." Hikari quipped back.

Hikari turned her attention back to Tohru, who was clearly deep in frantic thought.

"A hot spring...? I would be going without mom! Such an expensive trip, too..."

Hikari just giggled at her behavior, while the rest sweat dropped at her.

"Calm down, Tohru. It's just a hot spring, not Paris." Shigure assured.

With a little convincing (and a near disaster about how Tohru managed her money during Valentines Day), not only were Tohru and Hikari going with Momiji to the hot spring owned by the Sohma Family, but Yuki and Kyo, too.

The Inn they were to be staying at was truly gorgeous, and so was the hot springs themselves. However, the Inn's caretaker seemed to be a rather fretful women, loud too. Overall, the place was just generally breathtaking in Hikari's opinion.

"Hey no fair! I want to room with Hikari! Tohru, too!" Momiji whined as he clung to Hikari's arm.

"No begging, Momiji. You brought them here to have a good time, right?" Yuki reasoned, being quite responsible in Hikari's opinion.

Hikari giggled as he visibly dampened, although recognizing Yuki had a point.

"Fine..."

Later that night, after they all had bathed, Hikari watched as everyone played table top games. She chuckled everytime Tohru missed the ball.

"Don't you want to play, Hikari?" Tohru asked.

"No thanks, watching is more than enough entertainment for me."

Kyo smirked. "You're just scared that you're gonna lose horrifically!"

"Hey! Be kind to Hikari!" Momiji scolded.

"It's more like I'm sparing you the embarrassment of losing to me, which your welcome by the way." Teasing Kyo was a part time job, and Hikari felt as though she should be paid.

Yuki laughed while Tohru sweat dropped.

Surrounded by her most treasured people, Hikari felt at peace, and their white day vacation soon came to an end.

Hello! Been a while, I know. I regret to say that this story will most likely not continue to update :( Maybe once in a while I'll get the motivation to return to this, but for now it's over.
