"Is Kyon coming with us to visit your mom?" Uo asked Tohru as the two of them with Saki and Hikari walked to their classroom.
Hikari giggled at that. Tohru's mom and Kyo would have been quite the duo to witness.
"I'm not sure actually-" Tohru was interrupted by a shrill scream.
"Hikari! Hide me!" Momiji bolted up the stairs and lightly clinged to her.
"What for? Is someone antagonizing you?"
Momiji grinned but shook his head.
"Nope! Me and some friends are playing cops and robbers, and I'm the criminal!"
Hikari smiled down at him. "Well good luck. Don't worry, I'll make sure they never knew you were here."
Momiji grinned once more and then he was on his way.
Hikari smiled softly while she watched him run off.
"You're smitten." Saki stated to Hikari's dismay.
"Oh hush." Hikari rolled her eyes with a blush on her face.
"Hm... I wonder which one of his parents are German?" Uo wondered.
Tohru blinked. "I'm... not sure. Do you know, Hikari?"
Hikari thought a bit. She knew that Momiji's dad was still in the picture, but that he was Japanese, and had seen a picture of his mother.
"To be honest, he hasn't shared much about his German heritage with me." Or basically anything about his past.
For that, Hikari knew she shouldn't have been as bothered as she was, especially since Hikari herself had never shared anything about her past to the blonde boy. Still, Hikari desperately wanted to know the extent of the pain he held within his heart, and if he desired, Hikari would share her own.
"Oh, I see." Tohru quaintly replied.
The thoughts and questions revolving around Momiji never left her mind, and she was determined to at least let him know that she was always going to be there for him no matter what.

"Momiji told me to come and pick you up from work today." A lie, but Hikari found herself wanting to see him. To get answers of course, no other reason.
Hikari stood beside Tohru as the other girl finished wiping up the window in front of her. Tohru looked up at her best friend, a beam on her face.
"Okay! Let's say goodbye to him-" Tohru was intterupted by the boy in question.
"Kari! Tohru! Let me help! Please, please, please!" He called out as he ran towards the pair.
"Speak of the devil..." Hikari muttered, her tone nothing but fond.
Tohru and Momiji began taking out the trash, Tohru thanking him profusely for helping her. Hikari stood back and watched the pair worked. Hikari didn't have a job (she quit the one she had before moving in with the Sohmas very quickly after she had a stable place to live as they didn't treat her as well as Tohru told her she should be treated), but Hikari knew just how hard Tohru worked, most of the time too exhaustion.
Tohru and Momiji were her two favorite people on earth, so seeing them work together was something she would treasure forever.
"Hey Momiji," Tohru began, although Hikari knew she nervous by her tone. "Which one of your parents is German?"
Hikari already knew the answer to this, but it was a fair question for Tohru to ask. Momiji sent Hikari a glance though, and it broke her heart. He looked like he was preparing to share something taxing. Hikari sent him a smile in return, urging him to go on.
