Chapter 7.5: Rengoku and Tanjiros date.

Earlier that same day...

Tanjiro was getting ready early this morning because he was asked out on another date by Rengoku. Ever since Tanjiro and Rengoku met and realized that they were fated mates they have spent a lot of time together. Today they were going to the beach, and Tanjiro couldn't wait. He was pretty sure he was falling in love with Rengoku. Tanjiro hoped that Rengoku was falling in love with him too, Tanjiro was pretty sure he was but you never know. For today's beach date Tanjiro decided to wear his swim trunks, a black tank top, and he grabbed some sandals. Then he walked over to his dress and picked up his collar, he took a hard look at it then put it down. He should be fine. His heat is a month away. And the collar isn't exactly waterproof. A knock at the door made Tanjiro grab his bag and run out of his room.

"Coming." Tanjiro yelled and walked over and open the front door revealing Rengoku in a similar outfit.

"Hey babe." Rengoku said, as he kissed Tanjiro's cheek. "Are you ready to go?"

"Ye...Yeah I am." Tanjiro shook his bag.

"No collar today?" Rengoku pointed to Tanjiro's neck.

"Um...No it isn't really waterproof. Does it make you uncomfortable? I can put it back on."

"No. It's just...Do you trust me?" Rengoku placed his forehead on Tanjiro's shoulder.

"I do." Tanjiro looked at Rengoku.

"Hmm... I'm glad." Rengoku stole a quick kiss from Tanjiro. "Let's go." Rengoku grabbed Tanjiro's hand. It took them about an hour to get to the beach. They chatted about every little thing. Although Tanjiro sometimes felt that Rengoku avoided giving him a straight answer to some questions. But Tanjiro let the feeling go because there must be a good reason.

They parked the car and quickly made their way to the beach. Tanjiro was so excited he hadn't been to the beach in forever, not since he had come with his family before the accident. He ran leaving Rengoku behind but he didn't care, he wanted to see the ocean. As soon as his feet hit the water he closed his eyes and just felt the water. He had always loved the water but after he lost his family part of him didn't want to be near the water. But now he missed it more than he thought. He was really happy that Rengoku had suggested a beach date. Two arms wrapped around Tanjiro making him open his eyes and smile softly.

"Hey don't leave me behind." Rengoku said in Tanjiro's ear and he snuggled up to him.

"I'm sorry. I wanted to see the ocean." Tanjiro said, turning to look at Rengoku and smiled at him.

"While I'm glad you like my date idea. But why so excited to see the ocean?" Rengoku asked.

"I haven't been since I was a kid." Tanjiro closed his eyes again and remember the last time he was here.

"Why?" Rengoku asked, looking at his mate with confusion.

"After my family passed it was hard to do the things that we loved to do as a family, just me and Nezuko." Tanjiro looked at the hazrion. "But it's nice to be here with you."

"I'm glad to hear that. It makes me happy." Rengoku said with a grin. "So let's set up the towels and go swimming."

"Okay." Tanjiro was led away by Rengoku. They put their towels down and Rengoku quickly took off his shirt. This gave Tanjiro a chance to look at his mate. He hadn't seen him shirtless before. With a few scars Tanjiro had to admit Rengoku was good looking.

"Are you going to keep staring at me?" Asked Rengoku with an evil grin. Rengoku didn't mind his mate looking at him, considering the red across his face and a bit of his scent leaking out.

"No...I'm not looking." Tanjiro said. As he took off his tank top as well.

"Sure you're not." Rengoku looked at Tanjiro and was so enthralled with what he was looking at.

Tanjiro was a good looking man and despite his cute face, he was pretty muscular. And Rengoku had to admit he was glad that Tanjiro was a little bit more built, this would be better for when Rengoku took him as his mate and he had his new job. Actually fate was pretty funny because Tanjiro's job would be to help Uzui mate with anything he may need and considering that they were friends and roommates he had no doubt he would fulfill his duties.

The two of them put on some sunscreen and headed to the ocean where they had so much fun playing. Tanjiro had a floaty and was lounging around on it, he didn't usually take time off he was more worried about Nezuko. But he was learning he needed to take time for himself, Rengoku had taught him that recently. It was such a nice day and the beach was fun, Tanjiro hoped that they would come back.

"Tanjiro." Said Rengoku as he swam over to him.

"Hmm..." Tanjiro opened one eye as he turned his head.

"After we leave, do you want to go to dinner and get drinks?" Rengoku asked.

"Sure. Um...do you maybe want to have a..." Tanjiro was blushing "Sleepover?" Rengoku went underwater for a few seconds. Then he popped back up.

"Are you ok with that?" Rengoku asked.

"Yes." Tanjiro said with a bright blush on his face.

"Sure, do you want to come over to my place?" Rengoku also started to blush slightly.

"Yeah." Tanjiro said.

"Great!" Rengoku swam closer to Tanjiro and gave him a kiss.

They two of them played at the beach for a little bit longer then left when Tanjiro and Rengoku started getting hungry. They had some ramen because Tanjiro was craving some noodles. Then later they went to Flashy Sound and had some fun. That night Tanjiro and Rengoku went to Rengoku's apartment, they cuddled all night as they slept.
