3rd POV:
At the bridge, the bridge workers were working hard and trying to get the job done. Sakura was sitting down on a nearby bench, while you stood next to where Sakura was with your hands behind your head, watching and making sure nothing happened to anyone on the bridge. Sakura yawns and stretches from both tiredness and boredom. "You both always this lazy?" Tazuna asked, walking with a long thing of steel on his shoulder. "Where's that weird blonde kid and the one with the attitude?" Tazuna asked, looking over at you and Sakura as he walked by.
"They're training, climbing trees." You said, smiling kindly at Tazuna. "Too tough for the both of you?" Tazuna asked, "No. In fact, we're the best. That's why the Sensei sent us to guard you." Sakura said, bragging a little. Tazuna glanced at you and Sakura from the corner of his eyes, stopping in his tracks to look at you and Sakura. "You're joking," Tazuna said in more of a statement than in question. Sakura grew angry and tried to attack Tazuna when he wasn't looking, but gladly you stopped Sakura before she could do any harm. You decided to help out with moving the steel. You walked over to the other steel, but before you could pick up one Tazuna stopped you. "I don't think that's a good idea. Those steel planks are pretty heavy." Tazuna said, trying to stop you. You smiled and picked up the steel plank with ease, making both Sakura and Tazuna look surprised. You walked over to the other pile of steel and placed the one steel plank you were carrying. Tazuna put down the long steel right next to the other pile of steel. You continued to help out as a worker walked over to where you and Tazuna were. "Tazuna, uh, I need to talk to you." The worker said, Tazuna looked back at the worker. "Huh? What about?" Tazuna asked, "Uh, the thing is, I've been thinking a lot about the bridge. And I decided I've pushed my luck far enough." The worker said, gaining your attention as you stopped what you were doing.
"I want out." The worker said, "Now you're going to quit on me, just like that?! You're kidding?!" Tazuna yelled, "You know, I stayed on because of our friendship. But I'm putting my life on the line every day I stay here. Gatō and his thugs will show up eventually." The worker said, "Hmm." Tazuna glanced at the worker. "When they do, they'll kill you and the bridge will never get finished anyway." The worker said, glancing away from Tazuna and then back at him sighing. "It's a lost cause, Tazuna. Why don't we stop now while we can still get out of this alive?" The worker said, trying to convince Tazuna to stop. You were watching the conversion from standing by the other steel planks. Sakura was watching the talk from the bench she was at. "No chance," Tazuna said, with a dead stare. "Huh?" The worker asked, confused. "This is our bridge. Our island is poor, and it will stay that way until this bridge connects us to the mainland. Commerce, trade, and hope, that's what we're building here." Tazuna said, inspired, "There's not going to be much hope if we're all dead." The worker said, looking away once again.
"It's already noon. Let's break for lunch." Tazuna said, walking past the worker. "Tazuna, let's not end it like this." The worker said, holding out his arm to Tazuna. "Save your breath." Tazuna said, cutting off the worker, "Oh, and Giichi, don't bother coming back after lunch." Tazuna said to the worker now known as Giichi as he continued to walk away. You and Sakura looked at each other and then back at Tazuna.
~With Naruto and Sasuke~
Naruto's grunting could be heard in the same forest Team 7 was training. Naruto pants struggling to get the Jutsu. "Why is it so hard?!" Naruto yelled, waving his arms around. Sasuke pants as well from exhaustion. Sasuke grunts looking up at his tree and Naruto's tree. Naruto growls, glaring at Sasuke, as Sasuke does the same. Naruto and Sasuke stand up at the same time, still glaring at each other. "I'm not going to lose (Y/n)~Chan's heart to you." Naruto thought, still glaring at Sasuke. Sasuke kept glaring at Naruto like he knows what Naruto is thinking. Both Sasuke and Naruto grunt as they run up their own tree.
