"Now that we've weeded out most of the hopeless cases, 15 minutes to go. Time for the main event." Ibiki thought with a smirk then got serious again. "All right, listen up. Here's the 10th and final question." Ibiki said, gaining everyone's attention. "Here we go. Everything's riding on this one. Believe it." Naruto thought, squeezing his pencil. "Man, this guy is full of himself." Sasuke thought, staring at Ibiki with a blank expression. "This is it. The final obstacle." Ino thought, still in Sakura's mind. "Hurry up, Kankuro. What good is your cheat sheet going to be if you miss the 10th question?" Temari thought, eyeing at the door Kankuro left out of.
"But before I give you the question, there are some more rules that you need to be aware of." Ibiki said as the whole room was dead silent. A door was heard as Kankuro walked through it with a smile on his face before he paused. "Ah, made it just in time. I hope you found your trip to the bathroom enlightening." Ibiki said, hiding his smirk and causing Kankuro to widen his eyes. "He's seen through the Crow's disguise. He's on to us." Kankuro thought, getting nervous. "Well, take your seat." Ibiki said, making Kankuro come out of his thoughts and walk to his seat. As he walked down the row, he dropped a tiny piece of paper onto Temari's desktop, without anyone else seeing it, then took his seat a couple rows away from Temari. "These rules are unique to question 10. Listen carefully and try not to let them frighten you." Ibiki said, side-eyeing the classroom.
~With The Sensei's~
"It's so quiet without the rookies around. I almost miss 'em." Kakashi said, sighing at the end. "Don't worry. Chances are they'll be back again sooner than you think." Asuma said, leaning back in his seat with a cigarette in the corner of his mouth. "Why's that?" Kakashi asked, confused. "I heard that their first examiner this year is Ibiki." Asuma said, flicking the end of his cigarette which caused Kakashi to perk up. "So, already their chances of passing look iffy." Kakashi thought, going back to have a blank face. "Great, sticking them with that sadist right off the bat." Kakashi said, leaning back in his seat with his arm hanging over the back of it. "What sadist?" Kurenai asked, confused. "I forgot you're a new Jonin, Kurenai. Otherwise, you wouldn't have to ask that." Asuma said, smirking a little bit at her.
"So, I'm ignorant. Who is he?" Kurenai asked, still confused. "He's what you might call... A specialist. " Kakashi said, looking over at Kurenai. "Oh yeah? In what?" Kurenai asked, looking over at Asuma. "Interrogation. Torture." Asuma said, making Kurenai gasp in shock. "Oh, of course, he won't be using physical torture during the test, he won't need to. That's not really his thing, anyway. He works on people's minds, not their bodies. He's famous for it. Everyone knows about the head of the Anbu Torture and Interrogation Corps for the Hidden Leaf Village. Ibiki Morino." Asuma said, smirking a little bit. "You see, this guy, Ibiki, he's a master of interrogation because he understands how the human mind works. He knows just where to probe to uncover your weaknesses. The thing is he's so good at his job, he doesn't use physical torture. He doesn't need to. He just messes up your head so bad, you torture yourself." Asuma said, smirking over at Kurenai.
~Back At Room 301~
"If even the rules are scary... What's the question like?" Naruto thought, gulping in fear. "Very well, then. Rule number one. Each of you is free to choose not to be given the final question. It's your decision." Ibiki said, making you, Naruto, and Sasuke perk up at that. "Say what? We're free to choose?" You and Sasuke thought, confused. "Whoa. So what's the catch? Let's say we decide we don't want to do it. What happens then?" Temari yelled, confused and worried. "If you choose not to take the 10th question, regardless of your answers to the other nine, you'll get a zero. In other words, you fail. And that means, of course, all your teammates fail as well." Ibiki said, smirking at the end, making everyone widen their eyes. "Turns out there was a catch to it after all. I know Naruto~Kun and the others got this. Ibiki~Sensei is just trying to get into our minds and make us nervous." You thought with a small smile as you listened to what Ibiki had to say.
