Chapter 19: The Start of a New Chapter: Gaara of the Sand and The Chunin Exams!

3rd POV:
The small group walked through a forest, getting closer and closer to the Leaf Village. You hummed a song from when you were younger as Sasuke and Naruto walked besides you once again. As you hummed, you looked around seeing the beauty of nature. You continued to walk, not noticing Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Haky, Zabuza, and Kakashi glaring at one another. As you continued to hum, a bird landed on your shoulder which made you stop humming.

You looked down at your shoulder with a gentle smile and reached over to let the bird walk on your hand. The bird tweeted happily, walking on the palm of your hand. You smiled down at the bird as your other hand placed a finger on the bird's head and rubbed it gently, which made the bird tweet in delight and nuzzle your finger. You giggled at that before letting out a yelp as you were picked up off the ground. The bird flew up before landing on your shoulder as you looked up to see Naruto grinned down at you. Naruto was carrying you bridal style, which made you blush a little bit. "Naruto~Kun?" You asked, smiling at Naruto confused. "You must be tired of walking, (Y/n)~Chan! Let me carry you!" Naruto said, grinned down at you. "B-But, Naruto~Kun. I'm alright, really." You said, trying to get Naruto to put you down. "But, why can't I carry you?" Naruto asked, looking down at you with a pout. You looked up at him before signing, giving in to him carrying you. "Fine, you can carry me." You said, smiling gently up at Naruto failing to see the blush that had spread across his cheeks. Naruto grinned down at you before walking over to the group with you still in his arms. "Naruto! Put her down, she can walk you know!" Sakura said, secretly glaring at Naruto. "But-But she said I could!" Naruto said, holding you closer. You failed to notice everyone was now glaring daggers at Naruto. You looked to your shoulder and saw the bird was still there. "I wonder why you like me so much? Do you have a name?" You asked the bird as you held your hand out to the bird again. The bird happily got back on your hand before tweeting a couple of things. "Hm, no name. What if I called you (B/n)?" I asked, smiling down at the bird in my hand. {(B/n) = Bird's name, just for those who didn't understand} The bird tweeted in delight jumping up and down, telling you that it would like to be called (B/n). "Well then, (B/n) it is." I said, smiling happily. "You're really good with animals, too." Naruto said, listening to your conversation. You giggle cutely at his comment, making everyone look at you with blushes. "It was something I developed when I was younger in my clan." I said, smiling up at Naruto.

I lifted my hand up and near my shoulder, letting the bird climb on it and gripping it tightly. You smiled at the bird then looked up at Naruto with a gentle smile. "Naruto. Let's take turns carrying her." Sasuke said, gesturing to everyone else who wanted to carry you. Your face slightly turned in between a pink and a red. "H-Huh?" You said with a confused and nervous smile. "Fine." Naruto said, handing you to Sasuke. "Why do they all want to carry me?" I thought, confused. Your blush kind of went down as you continued to look around. After a couple of minutes, you were passed to Haku who smiled gently down at you. You twiddled with your thumbs, trying to think of something to do to distract yourself. (B/n) tweeted, making you look down at your shoulder. You smiled, gently petting (B/n) with your pointer finger. You felt yourself being put into someone else's arms, making you look up at the person who was now carrying you. Sakura smiled down at you as the group continued on their walk. You looked up at the sky, wondering if your other friends are out doing missions or just training. You started feeling around in your pouches, digging for two objects. "What are you looking for, (Y/n)~Chan?" Sakura asked, looking down at you. "Hang on... I– Ha! Found it!" You said, pulling out a small sketch book and pen. "It's my sketch book. I had this for awhile now and drew a couple of things a few years ago now. But the scenery is so pretty and the sky too, I want to sketch it." You said, smiling happily as you flipped the sketch book open while trying to find a blank page. "We're not stopping for you to sketch, (Y/n)." Kakashi said, reading his book. "Who said we needed to stop? I already got the pictures in my head of what I'm gonna do." You said, starting to sketch a little bit of the scenery. As you continued to sketch, you were passed into Zabuza's arms. You had your tongue sticking out to the side, which made everyone else think it was adorable. Zabuza would look down at you every once in a while to see how your progress was going.
