Chapter 21: Genin Takedown! All Ten Rookies Face Off!

(Y/n) POV:
As we walked into the room, everyone stared us down. "Wh— What's this?" Naruto asked, confused and worried. "Gee, I guess we're not alone." Sakura said with a shaky voice. I put a hand on both Naruto and Sakura's shoulders and gave it a gentle squeeze. They looked at me surprised but calmed down as I smiled gently. I looked back at the crowd of Genin that stared at us. I put my hands behind my head and smirked. "You like what you see or what?" I asked, giggling cutely. Everyone either blushed or turned their heads away. "Sasuke, where have you been?" Ino yelled as she ran over and hugged Sasuke. "Boy, you have no idea how much I was hoping you'd show up here. I've missed those brooding good looks of yours." Ino said, staring at Sasuke with a love-struck look. Sakura growls in anger, "Hey, you porker! Back off! He's mine!" Sakura yelled, pointing a dangerous finger at Ino as Ino got off of Sasuke and stood beside him. "Miss Forehead. They let you in? Still got those big frown lines on your billboard brow, I see." Ino smirked at her remarks. "Leave my forehead out of it!" Sakura yelled, angrily. Ino stuck her tongue out which made Sakura even more angrier than she already is. "Hi, Ino~Chan!" I said, trying to break the tension. "Hi, (Y/n)~Chan!" Ino said with a kind smile before going back and loving on Sasuke. "Oh, it's you guys. I knew this was gonna be a drag, but I didn't know it was gonna be this lame." Shikamaru said as bored as ever. "So all three stooges are here." Naruto said, smirking. "Hey, you know what, pipsqueak? Ah, forget it. You're a waste of time." Shikamaru said, not caring anymore. "Shikamaru~Kun, Choji~Kun!" I yelled, running over and hugging both of them with a happy smile. "It's been so long since I last saw y'all. How have all three of you been?" I asked, releasing them from the hug. "We've been good, it's just been a drag since Ino only ever talks about Sasuke. But you know, it's just the usual." Shikamaru said, boredly as ever. "At least all three of you have been working harder as a team." I said with a kind closed-eye smile. "Hey, (Y/n)~Chan, do you want some chips?" Choji asked, reaching the bag out to me. "Sure! Thank you, Choji~Kun!" I said, reaching into the bag and grabbing a few chips. "Sorry, but Sasuke's all mine." I heard Ino say as I turned to look over at her she was sticking out her tongue again.

"Well, well, what do you know? It looks like the whole gang's back together again." Kiba said, walking towards us with Shino and Hinata close behind him. "Oh. Hi, Naruto, (Y/n)~Chan." Hinata said, smiling gently at us before looking down with a blush as Naruto and I looked over at her. I smiled gently, before feeling something leap into my arms. I looked down to see Akamaru looking up at me with happiness. I smiled down at Akamaru as I pet his head gently. Akamaru looked over and up at my shoulder before growling a little bit. (B/n) hides behind my neck, scared of Akamaru and his growling. I gently pet Akamaru on the head, calming him down. "Akamaru, you're scaring (B/n)." I said with a gentle smile as I reached behind me and let (B/n) walk onto my hand. I pulled my hand back and slowly introduced Akamaru and (B/n). "Let's try this again. Akamaru, this is (B/n). (B/n), this is Akamaru." I said with a gentle tone as I brought (B/n) closer to Akamaru, so they could get to know each other better. Akamaru sniffed (B/n) which made (B/n) cover her eyes in fear but she opened her eyes to feel Akamaru lick her on the cheek gently before sitting up and wagging his tail. (B/n) chipped happily about the fact she made a new friend. I gently giggled before placing (B/n) back on my shoulder while giving both head pats to (B/n) and Akamaru. "You guys, too, huh? Man. Everyone's here for this stupid thing." Shikamaru said, boredly. "Yep. Here we all are. The ten rookies. This is going to be fun. At least, for those of us good enough to make the cut. Right, Sasuke?" Kiba asked, smirking over at Sasuke. "Kiba, careful you don't get overconfident." Sasuke said with a smirk as Ino held a fist up behind Sasuke. "Just wait. We're going to blow you guys away. We've been training like crazy." Kiba said, smirking. "What do you think we've been doing? Sitting around picking daisies? You don't know what training means!" Naruto yelled, pointing a finger at Kiba angrily. "Uh, don't mind Kiba. I'm sure he didn't really mean anything by it." Hinata said nervously, which made Naruto look over at her. Hinata gasped before looking away with a small blush which didn't go unnoticed by me or Kiba while Akamaru barked.
