she took me to the ferris wheel
knowing i had never been on one
she looked around as the wheel went up
and i stared at her
she gave me a chocolate at the top
she gazed at me when the wheel went down
and our eyes locked
she gave me a chocolate at the bottom
she took my hands in hers
she said
"love makes the world go round
chocolate makes your tummy round"
i laughed, she didn't
"you have been up
and i was by you.
you have been down
and i was by you.
that's what i meant to say.
that's what i meant to show."
