i found out
my hands speak better than my lips do
and here i am writing to youi close my eyes
in this darkness
all i can see
is you
the summer day
when we first met
the end of the road
a figment of my imagination
with stars in your eyes
and love in your heart
i fell for you
then and there
and you smiled
because somehow
you knewthe freckles on your cheeks
when joined
which way do they lead to?
would you like to take that path?
with me beside you?your eyes
brighter than the brightest of stars
shinier than the shiniest of diamonds
deeper than the deepest of oceans
warmer than warmth itself
i can't find my way out
(do i want to?)
i get so lost in them
i don't mind
since it's youthis is an ode, my love, from me to you
i used to carry
an ocean of saltwater
who likes the harshness of it?
so they all left
in search of sweet
but you, you stayedour foreheads joined
you held me tight
in your embrace
i was you
and you were me
and everything else
ceased to be
in that moment, we were one
no one could even tell us apartthe dams broke
and you were there
to hold me
you smiled
as if you understood
(maybe you did?)
"i have been through it too,"
"if not me, then who?"i open my eyes
and everything shatters
reality comes crashing down
and i break
you were a dream
(you still are)
someone too good to be truenow that you are gone
all i can do
is ask this silence
"my love,
where are you?"
