FORTY NINE

Monks were busy.

It's either they're digging or running around like headless chickens.

Not that Wei MeiLan minded, but she was curious as to why Jin GuangYao was rushing them to dig.

"Why the heck you're rushing your slaves?" Wei MeiLan ask as she sat calmly beside Lan XiChen.

"Sister Mei, we need to complete the process before dawn," Jin GuangYao patiently answered, which earned confusion from her.

"Process of what? You know what, nevermind, I'm not going to ask anymore you do your thing, just don't involve any shit. I'm tired of warning you—"

Su She barged in with Nie HuaiSang, unconscious. Wei MeiLan stared at the former in disbelief at the way he carried the latter.

"Why did you bring him here?"

"I saw him on my way here, Master. So I knocked him out. Besides he won't be able to fight back," Su She smugly answered.

"Aish," Wei MeiLan facepalmed. "You're already in that state and you dare to be an idiot, ugh, I don't want to talk anymore, you keep your mouth shut everything will be fine. Try to retort or a silencing spell will be cast on you. Are we clear?"

"Why is she—?" Su She looked puzzled that I still have my cultivation energy.

"Sister Mei voluntarily came here, why do I need to make her do that? I don't want to make her angry. Just do what she wants you to do,"

But there was another chaos outside that made him try to take a peek at the door. However, an impact from the outside crashed into him, sending him toward the center of the room.

Jiang Cheng was the one who made the move to break the door open, shocking everyone.

"Uncle!" Jin Ling exclaimed.

"You brat!" Jiang Cheng scolded. "You only remember your uncle when you are in trouble! What are you doing here?"

"Fairy lead me here!"

"Nonsense! You kept on running around like that, I'm going to cut your feet so that won't go anywhere!"

"Uncle, Aunt Mei's going to give me punishment, please don't hack my feet!"

"You dare to complain when you bring this to yourself?"

"A'Cheng..." Wei MeiLan sighed. "Have you decided already?"

Jiang Cheng kept on looking at her brother, sending uneasiness to Wei WuXian. Jin GuangYao tried to subdue Jiang Cheng but the latter fought back until he got wounded, courtesy of Jin GuangYao's flowery words to trick him and Wei WuXian find out that Jiang Cheng knows what really had happened. She was about to tend to his injuries when Jin GuangYao spoke.

"Sister Mei, can I ask for a favor?"

"What?"

"Can you, not fully heal Master Jiang? The Wei's cores are truly magnificent so I think he doesn't need your help," Jin GuangYao asked. "He can recuperate by himself even though it might take longer than you are capable of,"

She shrugged at the thought as her brother lamented that the secret got out. Jiang Cheng expressed displease with the situation as time progressed to take something that is buried from the back of the temple.

Out of excitement, Jin GuangYao went to the excavation site when the monk found the coffin, but it turns out that the coffin has curse spells that activate once it was touched and moved.

Several monks got infected, including Jin GuangYao and Su She. But what shocked everyone is the backlash of the hundred holes that were embedded in Su She's chest, drawing to a conclusion.

That it wasn't her brother who cursed Jin ZiXun.

Whoever curses a person a hundred holes will also have the same curse in the body, however, there were no holes in Wei WuXian's real body back when he was alive.

Su She noticed that everyone was looking at his chest that is full of scars.

Chaos and confusion erupted.

Who would have thought that all of the misunderstandings will be cleared in one night?

Wei MeiLan only sighed at how the event unfolded in front of her. Lan XiChen tried to join the fray when he got his cultivations back slowly.

Jin GuangYao is begging to let him go; to live with his mother that he's trying to revive.

"Meng Yao, you cannot bring back a person that is dead..." Wei MeiLan answered.

"Your brother did it! He returned Wen Ning back! Sister Mei, please, I just want my mom! I can give you my cultivation title, the Jin clan, everything! I can forsake everything just to be with her!"

But the fun wasn't there when they tried to gang up on Jin GuangYao who also took Jin Ling as hostage, forcing Lan WangJi to cut his arm to save the kid.

Worse comes to worst when Nie HuaiSang woke up.

Nie HuaiSang panicked, awakening the blade who's in possession of Wen Ning, killing Su She at the process and targeting the Jin's.

Especially Jin Ling.

She knows what he will do.

And it's up to Wei MeiLan whether there will be another death or not that she knew so well.
