"Who is being held?" Wei MeiLan asked.

"Z-zeWu-jun is being held by your brothers at the Eternal forest, M-mistress," One of the Lan juniors reported to her nervously.

She's known for having sharp tongue, and young cultivators are not immune to harsh criticism as of yet.

"Master Wei ZhuanYi gave this letter to us and asked us to relay this to you," A scroll of paper being handled gently by the cultivator like their lives are depending on the scroll.

"Do you know why they did it?" She took the scroll from them and checked the contents. Eternal forest is a place wherein someone can be stuck forever and die from gruesome death or became insane from the experience of this enchanted forest.

"N-no mistress, they just dragged ZeWu-jun away—"

"What kind of stupidity these two are brewing at this crucial time?" Wei MeiLan stared at the papers stacked at the table.

"Eternal forest isn't a playground to play with, if they think using it to do something suspicious to Lan Huan, they're just making a fool out of themselves," She stood up and picked Descent from the table. "Sort out the papers here. Check if that's an information or the clan's matter, separate those two and hand over the information to the Mistress of Jiang clan. Tell her I'm at forest,"

She grabbed her cloak and strapped her weapon to her waist. The juniors followed her instructions in sorting out the papers.

She stood at the entrance of the forest, staring at the beauty of the forest from the edge.

"Midnight," she called out.

A black huge cat came out of the forest, waving his tail, welcoming his owner.

"My idiot brothers dragged Lan Huan here, do you know where they might be?" She asked as she kneeled down to pat the cat.

The cat purred as he licked her hand, urging her to come with him.

"I see. They hadn't done anything stupid yet," She stood up and followed Midnight deep inside the forest.

The enchanted forest was called that way to it's beauty. But then again, there's ugliness hidden in every beauty you see. Everything has flaws, and some can be deadly.

She ignored every thing that can attract someone's attention and focused with Midnight. She might be immune to the forest enchantment, thanks to Midnight, but it's still better to be careful.

The three are located at the center of the forest, where the biggest and taller tree is located; the tree of life. It's so big that you can use the perimeter as track for running around. The leaves are it's greenest color, full of life. But once you touch anything, it starts to defend itself from intruders.

Unfortunately, they are currently fighting for their lives upon their arrival for unknown reason to her.

Several creatures are trying to attack them, but they can't even move an inch backwards to avoid touching the tree. Midnight does not attack anyone as long as the tree is not harmed in any way.

"The hell you idiots are doing here?" Wei MeiLan screamed, interrupting the fight.

"Wei Qing, let's talk about that later, okay? We're sort of fending them off here..." Wei WuXian answered.

"I see what you are doing but I want to know why did you chose to be stupid and decided to drag every people you want, here? Are both of you tired of living?"

Wei MeiLan pulled one blade and swiped it towards the creatures, throwing them away from the tree. Midnight chased the creatures away to make sure they won't go to that area once again.

"This is Midnight's domain. And it's supposed to be no humans here. Do I need to put barricade here also for you to understand!?"

"We just want to—"

"What, scare him? Test him? Can we get past of this? If I don't come come here, you three are gonna be a fertilizer here for Xiao'er,"

"Xiao'er?"

"The tree behind you," Wei MeiLan sighed. "I don't come here because this is not a place for humans, and you dare to drag Lan Huan here, of all places? Repeat this again and I'll tie you to Xiao'er, are we clear?"

"Why are you calling the tree—" Wei WuXian was starting to ask her when Wei ZhuanYi put his hand to the former to shut him up.

"Don't ask the names, I don't want trouble from the tree,"

"Get your asses out of here or I'll drag you back myself using ropes,"

"But—"

One look from her glare at them did not left them a room for debate. "I don't want to hear any buts, whys or hows from you. Scarce yourself out of here, that will be your punishment. And never ever pick anything from here, if you want to get out alive,"

"What about you?" Lan XiChen asked.

"I'm going to sort out something here, I'll return before the wedding,"

"Ok, keep safe," Lan Huan kissed her forehead.

"Midnight, guide Lan Huan out. Leave those two to their devices, then come back here,"

Midnight transformed into a young man with tanned skin and midnight black hair and heterochromic eyes. "Yes, Mistress,"

"Hey! The cat is a beastman? So cool!" Wei WuXian exclaimed.

Midnight grabbed Lan XiChen's sleeve and dragged him to one direction.

"Hey! Don't leave us!"

Wei MeiLan turned towards the tree and gently touched the trunk. "Xiao'er, I want to talk to you about something..."

"Where my sister!?" Between the two brothers, Wei ZhuanYi is the one who's panicking right now. "It's her wedding, she should be here but she still hasn't returned from the forest! We should not have done that, Wei Ying, it's my fault—"

"Hey, hey, stop! She's not dead, nor lost or anything, she might be on her way now here, who knows?" Wei WuXian interrupted.

"But—"

Everyone at the venue stopped and looked at the entrance, witnessing Wei MeiLan walking towards Lan XiChen in her clothes that surprised everyone.

Wearing the prettiest yet simplest clothes you've ever seen adorned with flowers and leaves from the skirt way up to her waist, sleeves to her shoulders like a blooming spring paired with a hairdo full of flowers clipped and dangled.

As she walks, Midnight in his human form is following closely to her with his midnight hair, paired with white cultivating robe with gold linings at the edge.

Thus, the wedding ceremony has started.
