Diego's POV:
"Hector," I chuckled as his lips tickled my cheek. "The line is already long!"
"Let's wait for it to go down a bit then," he mumbled and placed many more kisses all over my face making me laugh.
"No, I'm hungry," I whined and grabbed his face in my hands. "Please?"
He chuckled and grabbed my hands in his, placing a kiss on each hand before agreeing with a sigh. He got out of the car and quickly made his way around to open my door. His hand immediately grabbed mine and I was surprised that I wasn't feeling anxious that others could stare at our interlocked hands. I was happy and that happiness was blocking out any worries I was feeling. I'm sure Hector was noticing because he had a big grin on his face.
"Table for two?"
"Yes, please," Hector politely said to the lady and we followed after her until she stopped by a small booth against the wall of the restaurant.
"Your waiter will be with you shortly," she said and placed down the menus before walking off.
"So, what made you want to go to dinner?" Hector asked, a small and charming smile now gracing his face. "Not that I don't love it."
I chuckled and shyly shrugged my shoulders while saying, "I just want to spend time with you. And. . . I should apologize. It probably wasn't easy to hear from Max that I skipped a period to go talk with my ex."
He chuckled and grabbed my hand over the table. The great thing about Hector is that he was such a calming and understanding person. He never pushed anyone and kept to his business. He knew when to not push someone but also knew when someone needed a little push.
"I knew you wouldn't have unless it was serious. I trust you."
"Hector. . . Were you scared that I'd get back together with him during our talk or that something would happen?"
He sat in thought before he leaned forward to caress my cheek while saying, "I was worried that he'd make a move on you, but you? Never."
He stared right in my eyes and the atmosphere felt heavy but not in a bad way. It was heavy with passion and care. It felt normal, like this was supposed to happen. Him and I, it didn't feel too good to be true, it just felt right. My heart skipped a beat everytime he would look at me and I knew the direction we were heading. In fact, he was already there, just waiting on me.
"How can I help you guys?"
Hector smiled at the waiter and kindly let me order first before placing his own order. The waiter left with our orders and menus and Hector was the first to speak. We talked all through dinner, sharing stories and finding out more about each other. I had known Hector for a good amount of years but it was refreshing to hear some new things about him. He talked passionately about life back home with his friends and how much he loved to write. He wanted to be a teacher and I couldn't help but to laugh since he was a big, buff guy with tattoos. He would look like the typical hot teacher girls dreamed about. He explained that he'd want kids in the future and live with a million animals. He sat and listened too when I'd share things about myself. Though most of my stories involved his cousin Max, he still laughed and listened with interest. His stare was always filled with passion and he had a glint behind them. He truly looked happy.
"I loved dinner."
"Me too," I agreed and unbuckled my seat belt when he parked beside the house. "Tell Max's dad that I said thanks for letting us barrow the car."
"Of course," he said and grabbed my hand to get my attention. "Let's go on a date again soon?"
A shy but big smile made its way to my lips and I nodded my head happily. He chuckled and got out the car, opening my car door for me and helping me out. My back was against the car and his arm was stretched out, resting against the car as he stared down at me. My heart was beating away at his stare and I waited for him to lean down. He whispered my name and my breath got caught in my throat. He stopped about an inch away as if to ask for permission but I didn't wait and stepped forward, making our lips meet. His other hand grabbed my waist and both my arms went around his neck. My back was completely against the car now and his body was pressed against mine. The kiss was deep and intimate. He slowly pulled away and chuckled when I pulled him down for another kiss.
"Your mom is probably worried," he mumbled.
I groaned and released him from my hold against my will. He chucked yet again and a content smile was placed on his lips. He grabbed my hand in his and walked me up to the door. A true gentleman. Though we did kiss before making it to the door.
"I'll see you tomorrow?"
"Bright and early," he confirmed and placed a kiss on my forehead. "Get some sleep, baby."
I blushed at his nickname for me and nodded my head, placing a quick kiss on his cheek before entering the house and closing the door after giving him a small wave. I stared at him from the peephole and grinned when he looked up at it and winked. I watched him walk away and I couldn't help but be happy that he was with me. He was mine just as much as I was his. It was enough to almost get me to do a little happy dance right then and there.
"You said you were going to dinner, not a date."
I quickly spun around to see my mother standing there, a hand placed on her growing belly. She opened her arms and I instantly went and hugged her. My mother was still everything to me and she always will be. Her wedding was coming up and Daniel's family was coming soon to prepare. My mom and I have only met a few of his family members but since most of them don't live near it was a bit hard. Caden wasn't the happiest when he found out a cousin of his was coming but he never mentioned why.
"Want to talk about it?"
"Tomorrow, you should get some sleep. Did you already eat?"
She gave a small smile before nodding her head and running a hand through my hair. Being pregnant after all these years has really took an affect on her. She's been more sleepy and has more body aches than when she was pregnant with me, or so according to her. She excused herself with a goodnight and goodnight kiss and left to her room. I made sure the door was locked before making my way up to my room and laying down on my bed. A giant smile was displayed on my face and I couldn't find a way to shake it off. My phone buzzed and I already knew it was from him. My heart continued to beat rapidly and I knew I was going to sleep peacefully after reading his text.
From: Hector
Miss you already. Can't wait to see you tomorrow. Sleep well, baby. You shine brighter than any star I've seen.
And he shines as bright as the moon.
