Caden's POV:
"For fuck's sake," I mumbled and slammed my hand on my phone to stop my alarm.
I got up with a groan, my muscles aching just a bit, and my body wanting more sleep. I feel like I would always hate morning just because of waking up. My body would never have enough sleep to keep me satisfied. I took my time getting dressed and ready for the day, my motivation being close to none. It took me about an hour before I could get out of my bitchy state most of the time, but I was trying to feel more positive because I was going to be with Max again today.
"Boys! Breakfast is ready!"
I rubbed my face to wake myself up and blinked a few times before opening my door and walking into the kitchen. Diego's mom made pancakes and waffles, a few of each sitting on a plate in the middle of the table. She was finishing cooking some eggs, and I helped to grab some plates. We barely talked at this point, but it was a comfortable silence. I knew she had forgiven me, mainly because Diego forgave me, but I happily took and accepted it. Anything to get rid of the awkward tension we had. Diego soon walked in and sleepily sat down on a chair, Diego's mother sitting down next and me last. We quietly started filling our plates, and surprisingly, Diego began talking first.
"When's the wedding again?"
"In two months! Boys, please tell me you have plans to look at suits."
"Of course we do!" Diego lied for us. "Graduation is about a month away. Hector told me about a party Charlie is doing to celebrate. It's next weekend. Can we go?"
She looked at us both for a while before grinning, saying, "Only if you guys prove to me that you'll have your suits picked and ready to go before the party."
"Deal!" Diego said with a wide smile and nudged my shoulder to get me to smile too.
I could only muster up a two-second smile before dropping it and focusing on my food. By the time we had finished, my dad had walked in and greeted us all. He was dressed in a formal suit, and I had completely forgotten that he had a meeting. Seeing my dad after he walked in on Max and me was still awkward, but he'd get over it. I was expecting that they'd catch us. Though I figured the most they'd catch us on was making out, not what we were doing last night. Diego and I cleaned up the table while my dad told Diego's mother all about the meeting and spoke about something regarding the wedding. I was zoning out, if I was being honest.
"Well, boys, we have to go look at some things regarding the wedding. I'm sure you have plans, so just be safe, okay?"
"Okay, mom. Good luck," Diego said and kissed her on the cheek; my own father gave me a pat on the back at the same time.
They left after saying goodbye one last time, and I took the opportunity to jump and lay on the couch, releasing a content sigh. Diego chuckled and sat at the end of the couch, going on his phone while I looked up a movie. I settled on a random movie, knowing full well that I was mainly putting the movie for background noise because I was going to be on my phone. Our plans were technically not until later, so we had time to relax before he was rushing me to get ready.
"What color should we wear? Black? Grey?"
"Does your mom have bridesmaids?"
"No, they decided not to have any of that. Everyone will be in seats; only them two will be up there."
"Hm, then let's do grey. My dad can be the one shining in black."
"We should get matching suits with Max and Hector. Or, they can wear a lighter shade of grey, and we can wear each other's ties."
"Would that even look nice in pictures?"
"I think it would!"
"I want to wear a bowtie. You and Hector wear regular ties."
