"Boys? I don't want to wake you, but Max's mother has been calling. For some reason, she refuses to let you guys stay over."
I groaned and opened my eyes, wincing at the bright light of my bedroom lightbulb. I slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes, covering my mouth a second later as a yawn let itself out. My mother stared at me with a small smile, and I gave her a lazy one in return until my eyes widened when I remembered that Hector was asleep right next to me, and we were definitely cuddling.
"Good morning, baby," Hector mumbled and buried his face into the side of my thigh.
My mother looked at him with amusement playing around in her eyes, and a deep blush rose to my cheeks. My mother didn't even give me a chance to respond, only informing me that she would like to talk to the four of us in the living room in the next five minutes. As soon as she walked out my bedroom door, I shook Hector's shoulder until he groaned and sat up in annoyance. He looked at me and frowned when he saw my face.
"What happened?"
"My mom walked in on us cuddling in our sleep, and you called me baby in front of her. She said she wanted to talk to the four of us in five minutes."
His eyes widened, and he immediately got out of my bed, fixing his clothes as best as possible and running his hand through his hair multiple times. I stared at him in amusement and slowly got out of bed compared to his quick movements. He was moving so quickly that he even helped me put on my shoes even though I was perfectly capable of doing it myself. He didn't care; he was in panic mode.
"Hector, what's wrong? I thought you wanted her to know."
"Of course I do, baby. I'm not ashamed that she knows, never that. I'm just. . . embarrassed."
"Embarrassed?" I asked, looking at him taken aback. "I embarrass you?"
"What? No! Jesus, baby. No, never. I meant I'm embarrassed by the way she found out. I wanted to invite them to dinner and show my intentions aren't bad."
I couldn't stop the smile that crawled on my lips. He was such a romantic. He was adorable. I don't know how he stayed single for so long. Anyone would be lucky to have him. Yet, he waited for me, and I was not complaining. He grabbed my hand and kissed my knuckles before kissing the top of my head.
"You don't have to go above and beyond, Hector. My mom already trusts and loves you."
"I love you," he said, and I leaned up and gave him a kiss, to which he gladly responded.
"I love you too. Come on before she comes back here and drags us out."
He followed me out, and we ran into Max and Caden in the hall. Max had a deep blush on his face, and Caden also looked a bit embarrassed. They didn't say a word to us and instead made their way to the living room. I was a bit nervous, but not too much. I already knew how my mom viewed Hector. It was still a bit nerve-racking, though. My mother and Daniel were already sitting on the couch, but I first noticed Daniel's pale white face and Caden avoiding his eyes. Hector and I took our seats, and my mother began with a smile.
"So, we had fun on our date night. But apparently, you guys did too!"
"Too much fun," Daniel mumbled, making Max cough up a lung.
"So, I had a feeling about Diego and Hector, but I am a bit surprised about Max and Caden! When and how?"
"Um, actually, we started seeing each other in secret before Diego and Hector got together," Caden said, still avoiding their eyes.
"Months ago?" Daniel said in shock, and my mother patted his knee to tell him to calm down.
"We aren't mad," my mother quickly clarified. "We are shocked, and a bit hurt that you guys didn't tell us."
