"W-what's going on?" You asked your friend, Grace as you tried to peep your head at whatever was happening— a large amount of students were forming a group around something and you being the nosy person you were, you wanted to see what was going on.

It wasn't everyday that something like this happened.

"Everybody thinks that a fight's going to happen. Between- uh, Moose and..." She looked at you, a face full of sympathy and hesitation before looking back at the scene. "Robin."

You grind your teeth at that name, immediately becoming uninterested as to whatever was going on. "I'm leaving." You mumble, spinning around as you move between students as you make your way out of the group.

It had only been a few months since Robin broke up with you. But you just couldn't stand hearing his name— if you heard it one more time you were sure your head was going to explode from hurt and anger.

You were positive that you guys would last. Positive that you guys would be high school sweethearts. But you know what they say, nothing ever lasts forever.

It's just— it was totally out of the blue. Well, sort of. You saw it coming, the way Finney stopped talking to you about how much Robin would rant about how lucky he was to have you, the way Robin would make excuses whenever you asked to hang out, to the way Robin just stopped talking to you entirely.

And when you heard that soft knock on your window for the first time in weeks, you knew it was over.

You wanted to know why, but he didn't tell you. You tried talking to Finney— shit, even Gwen. They just simply told you they didn't know, sending you pitying looks.

At first you were totally heartbroken, you still are, but that quickly turned into anger as you realized Robin was totally fine. The two classes you guys had together, he seemed totally fine. Through the hallways when he's talking to girls he told you, you never had to worry about, he seemed totally fine.

Maybe he just never liked you.

And you just couldn't bare the though of that, the sight of him. So, you requested to change your classes, claiming those two periods were distracting you and that your grade would probably go so much higher if you transferred out of those periods.

Trudging into the school building, you make your way to your locker. You didn't feel like carrying all the weight of your backpack right now, so you placed it in your locker— quickly grabbing your math textbook.

You still had some time to kill so you went to the nearest girls restroom, fixing your hair and making sure you didn't have any new blemishes on your face. When the first bell rang, you marched to your class, placing the one-pound textbook on your desk as you took your seat.

It wasn't even a full 15 minutes that you were in that class that you were called up to the office, excited and relieved that you'll be discussing your schedule change with the counselor.

You opened the door, freezing for a split second when your eyes landed on Robin. He was sitting on one of the chairs in the waiting room, his attention focused on wrapping his knuckles as he didn't look up at you once.

Douchebag. Remember that, you're only up here because of him.

Closing the door softly, you walk up to the front window. The old lady looks up at you from her notebook, a sweet smile on her face as her glasses hung loosely on the bridge of her nose. She smelled of butterscotch.

"Hi, hun. How can I help you?" She asked sweetly, placing her pen down.

"I was called up here. F-for a schedule change." You stuttered, praying to the living god that Robin was too focused on his knuckles that he wouldn't even notice that you're here.

She hummed, looking at one of the sticky notes on her desk. "Y/N Y/L/N?"

You now felt another pair of eyes on you. Great. Why'd she have to say your name?

"That's me." You say, nervously swaying on your feet.

"Mr. Huggins will be out here shortly, you can take a seat. Do you need anything? Water? Some candy? I have some butterscotch right here if you want some." She says, smiling at you as she picked up a few pieces butterscotches, handing them to you. You gladly take them, stuffing them into the pocket of your pants before thanking her.

You find the farthest seat away from Robin, keeping your eyes on the floor as you still felt his on you. You wanted the floor to open up and swallow you whole.

Hearing him shuffle, he finds a seat close to yours. Not too close, but close enough that you could hear him. "You're changing your schedule?"

Biting your tongue, you try to stop yourself from responding but your mouth has a mind of its own. "That's none of your business." You snap.

He chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "I know."

Why did he always do this? He always acted like nothing happened. This was your the first time he spoke a word to you, and he's acting like you guys didn't ditch a day of school to cuddle up and watch movies in his room. It was like your guys' relationship didn't even exist. That you guys were old buddies catching up.

"Then you should move back to where you were sitting." You say, finally looking at him.

He pressed his lips together, breaking eye contact as he stared at the clock.

"Y/N?" The principal came in.

If only he had came in sooner.

You stood up, glancing at Robin once more before following the principal to his office.

You couldn't believe you were saying this, but maybe you are actually glad he dumped you. Maybe this was the best, you could finally move on and find someone who will actually like you.
